I've got friends scattered all over the place and will be listening and watching the race via their email and Speed throughout. Can't wait for the start.
Well the day began with a light drizzle that persisted all the way to the start of the race. The conditions were too bad for taking pictures but I did have some fun testing the waterproof case on my GoPro. Once the rain stopped I pulled out the camera and captured a few images of a really exciting race. Those guys drove hard in slippery conditions which created a lot of really close racing with more than a few fender benders. Fortunately there were no serious incidents even though the action was everywhere. Even the people I saw there had me thinking I was on a Highway to Hell. I can't wait for tomorrow Thanks for the nice comments on the pics. I'm more than happy to share. I went to the store and when I returned home I had missed the first 8mins and they announcers mentioned one of the Vettes already has a misfire. My computer is in a different room than my tv so I gotta run abck and forth.
http://m.grand-am.com/laptrax/2377 On my phone! Grand Am home page on the right. Starworks leads from the pole, Ferraris having a tough time in GT. Outside pole car highest placed car in 11th, other cars in 17, 22 and 23 in class. Long race so not too worried, yet. Beautiful day at VIR testing with an FCRA race winner prepping for this season.
Thank you! Well, I can't negate that some Porsche are very fast ... but I'm sure that the Ferrari's will be quick in Le Mans and Nürburgring
I don't know about that, Tom. The FXDD car has set fourth fastest lap (out of 46 GT cars) in the race, so far. Co-driver quality and consistency play a large part of it.
Thank you Peter. 24 Hours is a LONG time and I seem to remember a certain Audi team winning Le Mans when the Peugeots were 4 seconds a lap faster. Let's see where we are a day from now.
Six hours in, 458's in P9 (AIM/FXDD), P10 (Risi), P15 (ESM), P20 (AF-Waltrip) and 34th (Risi) in class.
Amazing day at the track and the biggest crowd I've seen in the dozen or so Rolex 24s that I've been to. Started out a bit chilly but soon warmed up just enough to make things very pleasant. I was hoping to get a pic of A.J. Foyt but was just as happy to get a pic of Jackie Stewart. Three full days at the track and I'm going to have to settle for a DNF. I'm too beat to go back tomorrow and fight the crowds to see the finish. I can catch that on SPEED. I sure will miss all the pretty sights though Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
