Not disputing this, but merely pointing out that this car had a full-width windshield in the 1956 pic above yours (and looks like it still has the appropriate brackets today).

This photo was taken by Alberto Sorlini, an industrial photographer who covered the entire Mille Miglia, all cars, in the 1950s. That photo collection including the negatives and copyrights belongs since many years to Italian publisher Giorgio Nada of Vimodrone (Milan).

You're probably right. This one is a major restoration.

What an amazing car and amazing find.

Until when were those quadruple carbs used? I know the 166/53 had them, and of course the 250MM. I just love the sight of them!

She deserves to breath again. The 2-tone paintwork looked beautiful.

An intriguing car. I assume that Franco bought the car and has it displayed at Retro for resale. It will be interesting to follow the story and see how it plays out.

In my opinion, this one needs to be restored to be used, otherwise it will be just a display. As much as I appreciate originality, a car that cannot be driven is useless for the very purpose it became desirable for.

Very nice find. Look at all that original patina. Why on earth would you restore it:)
Looks like alot of work. Retromobile is such a great looking show. I have to visit it someday.

    Marcel,

Does that mean that this was the last Ferrari to receive a set of these particular Webers?

    Thanks,

    Jack.

No. Weber 36IF4C's were pretty "common".
    Here's some Weber carb information.

    Marcel,

Thanks for the interesting info regarding Weber-codes.

Perhaps you can tell me until what year the IC4F's were used, or maybe which Ferrari- engines were the last to have them? (I remember seeing a set of 2 on a Pegaso)

    Thanks!
