I have seen many photos, but have a few questions and information needed on the brake fluid reservoirs access panel flap, and the batchboard it fits on.

    1. 206 and 246 L, different brake booster and w.shield wiper system 'batchboard and flap'. Materials used, overall dimensions of opening and of flap (metal, I believe/gauge?), hinges, one or two, number of rivets, and thumb screw details.
Were these early batchboards all poorly made with the abundant air bubbles visible?
Did quality improve with the later L series? Always fiberglass?
On Götz's Dino, here below, the shape of the flap is more alike the latter models than the 206, and his is way ahead of mine age wise.

On "Dino Compendium", page 130, #01100, only two cars before mine, that shape is the same.

I love this book.It will change the way questions will be formulated....:)

    2. 246, M & E, same issues and questions.

I have made a mold for my #01104, yet missing the flap information and the other issues.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Regards, Alberto

    Hi Alberto,
The flap is metal (galvanized and painted I think), batchboard is fiberglass of the usual quality, with 3 rivets. I can get some dimensions if you need it in the next few days.
You probably need a tracing of the flap cover as it's not regularly shaped and I'm sure it was "formed" into place. There's a riveted-in nut for the knurled cover screw.

Thank you Andrew, a tracing would be great.
    Please send to:

Is the knurled screw just as the dashboard ones, just shorter?
Dimensions of the hinge would be great too, as we're going to have to roll our own.

Is your car an L? I forget... Now I remember, the engine compartment light ;)

It's different. I don't have a source for these - maybe someone else has?
    I'll send the size.
    Sure.
    :)

While we're at it, do you have a source for the internal barrel for the pinninfarina door locks? One of mine has a broken lug where the rod connects and I think you said it was interchangeable with another car.

Not certain Andrew, let me look around. I remember now, as you see memory is rough, I will try it tonight.
    Photo of where broken, please?

Andrew, thank you! the tracings are perfect and the reference to the edges is spot on for opening the holes. The tricky one is going to be the knurled bolt that holds the flap.
Just measured one from the dashboard though, and with slight modifications, no one will tell the difference.

The batchboard is finished, for fun we added a few orangeish threads in the fiberglass and as many pinholes as possible, but that was difficult to ask someone that works really well, to do a bad job...

Next, we have to make the hinges for the flap, although I was rather surprised at some really ugly ones that we found here, only just too big.

I'm certain Andres can find the same ones in the hardware stores in Manila.;)

The flap thumb screw will have to do as a shortened dashboard one, as simply not available anywhere.

Thank you Matthias, unfortunately after badly applied paint as it should be, you can see the threads only from the back...:)

Thank you Matthias, and Andrew for the design details. Really nice results. Glad to be able to help other L's that are missing theirs.

    Hi guys,

Having a couple of cracks and some material missing on the side of the panel. Does anybody know what plastic its made of? Think it is ABS or PC? Part is original.

Name of pattern? Is there any company to your knowledge that produces such sheets? Thickness 1mm.

    Thanks,

    Br Rob

    Rob, great questions!

Alas, Ferrari would use, Mattel quality plastic, cheaply vacuformed.

No idea about where you might find this material.
The batchboards / brake booster covers, we make are 100% fibreglass.
I can help you with the small cover, but it will not match (colour and thickness) the original stuff you have.

Best of luck on your hunt!

    Regards,
    Alberto

You're right Al, I would say weird questions:D.

Made some intense search, but there seems to be all sorts of patterns but that one as I can see so far. The one that seems most similar is "orange peel" pattern, not good enough though.

Thank you very much. The small cover is fine. All in all it doesn't look that bad, but.. Few cracks in the brake booster cover and a few bits on the passenger side missing that I will try to fix.

    Thank you very much indeed.

I need a great portion of luck I think

    Your panels are great
