I guess my question is if the car has been brought backj to stock (panels replaced, stock wheels, etc) does the resale value hold down the line?

Also I checked the sales person says car was NOT lowered

Car has been lowered. It's not a big deal, as you can adjust the ride height on the stock suspension, but look at these photos. This is not stock ride height.

Thought I had answered your question in a previous post (above). Yes, resale should hold IF it was restored to stock without issue.

    Definitely lowered.

oh thats definitely lowered. not sure why anyone would want that as the stradale already scrapes on anything larger than a piece of chewing gum. unless you live someplace completely flat.

I don't think 100k is too much for the car.

Isn,t it funny we all spend a great deal on our cars and because a piece of paper says "salvage"
it is not worth as much. Yet on this site I hear guys talking about spending 4k or more to have a stripe painted.
My only question on that car is where was the damage? was it the undercarriage panels or the actual floor boards? If the floor boards than it had to be quite a jolt? If anyone knows please post..
    Thanks

iirc there is a thread somewhere from the owner, it was the floor which is not repairable. the floor is paper thin so it doesn't take much to damage it. but the ebay ad is inconstant with the story, ie if rocks cause the car to be totaled then how can it be 'virtually free of rock chips'. but thats ebay for you. probably referring to paint. stradales get rock chips very easily

Ive spoken to the seller on ebay three times, out of the ten or so times its been listed on there, I have been a bidder. I think its a mid $80s car and would be a good track toy with no resale value in mind... But the guy is firm at $95k. and when I mean firm, I offered him $89k and than even came up to $90k in a moment of weakness just to get the deal done...he essentially told me to "take a walk" without getting real on what the actual verbatim was. I couldn't believe it! Wasn't like I was insulting him or was low balling him. But yea I agree, given the floors are paper thin, whats the story with the fact that the dents and scrapes were "fixed with a small hammer" ... umm just not sure. But apparently it was sold last year, than that guy traded it back to the gentleman selling it now, and who was listing it on ebay than... I can buy a 19k mile clean no story car for $120k so I walked away... but at $90k for a straddle it just sits in the back of your head..... :)

I've spoken to this guy and made a similar offer. His claim was, "well if I can't get $95k for it, I'll just keep it". Don't know how many times he's going to list it on eBay and place it on every auto classified website before he decides to "just keep it". (Sounds like he wants to move it, not keep it).

Mid 80s is the number for this car. Anything more and he should take it and run. Getting tired of seeing it advertised everywhere, especially eBay.

Used to work in the wholesale car industry back through college back in the 90s. Seen Salvage and TMU (True Mileage Unknown) branded titles cut 50%+ from retail value. Surprised this car hasn't taken more of a bath and shocked it's up to $90k (unless this guy is shill bidding).

People don't want to buy "stories", especially those dropping $100k. If you can afford $100k you can more than likely afford another $20k-$30k for a clean, no story car.

Not to beat a dead horse but mid 80's obviously isn't the number on that car guys. It seems $95k is.

Typing it over and over on fchat won't make his price go down. Sorry to burst the bubble.

At 95kits 35k plus under most listed CS on the market. That's 30% off.

Why not go to 95 if you were at 90 is my question?

It's only 5k. 2 years of service and a belt change. You'll have 5k worth of fun Month One

    Yeah, you and me both!

I remember 2 years ago or so when the car was first making it's rounds he wouldn't take less than $115k.

The market is speaking for itself, and it's obviously currently not supporting his (or your) $95k theory.

Maybe he should put it away till spring and see if spring fever helps get him his $95k.

Interesting food for thought.. looks like the current high bidder also placed a bid 17 hours ago on what appears to be another item from the same seller, specifically a Porsche.

While he is probably bidding. If 80k was the number. Even 90k. Someone would own it.

One CS with an unreasonable seller does not "make the market".

If and when it sells the market will be made. Till then, the game is on.
