Haywire - Gina was eye candy and this movie was more realistic than Columbiana for example since she is/was a mma fighter, it shows in the fight scenes. It was your regular assassin/spy movie. Not bad, Maybe one too many fight scenes.

Man on Ledge - I know this probably won't win any awards but I like this movie.

I agree, after Oldboy, foreign films (especially Korean) has opened my eyes. Troll Hunter is very good too (I might be biased ;))

Next up on this list is Battle Royale.

Cool, appreciate your recommendations. Going to watch SteamBoy tonight, I think, also got Princess Mononoke here.

    SENNA

Watched a little over half yesterday and just finished it. Great documentary. Unfortunately, I never got to watch Senna race, I learned a lot about him and racing in the past. It was incredibly good, I wish there were subtitles for those that didn't speak English. (there might be subtitles in the DVD, I just watched it online, so no subtitles)

Not a shame you did not see Senna race live because you had no control over that but there was never a dull moment imo. Man I need to get a DVD recorder that can transfer VHS because I have almost every race Senna was in up until that fateful day and then after, close to 100 VHS tapes I would guess by now.

I saw Senna race live 4 times. Each was electrifying. The problem I have with this DVD (and I liked it BTW) is that they tried to make Prost the "bad guy" and skirted over the reason his car crashed.

But, the behind the scenes stuff is fantastic. It's a wonderful movie.

Super cool that you got to see him race. I both agree an disagree with your assessment of how they painted Prost. I found myself disliking Prost during the documentary but I feel like they gave Prost some redemption with the footage of him at the funeral. I feel like it ended on a high note for him.

    Drive angry.

5.5 out of 10. Amber Heard makes up for a lot in that movie. Nicholas Cage is unconvincing.

    Drive.

Really good, loved the beginning part, I was on the edge of my seat for that one. There was a lot of empty staring contests, it was really annoying and drawn out.

    Where to begin.
This was discussed at length in the silver section.

    The planes were incorrect.
    They didn't follow the history.
They acted like they were flying video game fighters
    The acting was poor
    The casting was poor
    The movie's ending was weak/contrived
The dog-fight scenes were of interest but lacked substance.

High expectations - very poor result, its a bomb.

Grey 7/10 - best to wait for video. If you like Liam you'll like this movie. The biggest negative is what they were trying to do w/ the wolves. They sounded like dinosaurs and right out of a circa 2001 CGI computer. The movie has some strengths and definite weaknesses. Had I gotten prior reviews I would have waited for video. My recommendation is find something else.

    Anyone seen Contraband?

The Jerk - I forget Steve Martin use to be one hell of a funny guy - his last two good movies were - Dirty Rotten Scoundrals and Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Since then, he's been D.O.A.

I recently watched the Ben Stiller movie 'Greenberg'. I found it to be quite unorthodox yet very appealing in the sense of its reality, maybe I saw alittle of myself in his character? I found his co-star Greta Gerwig quite alluring in a vulnerable and truthfull sense, does that make any sense?

"Easy A" ... surprisingly literate for a teen comedy.
Although there are more references to '80s teen comedies than to literature.

But a lot better than I expected it to be.

Some of the dialog is pretty cute:
"Since when are teachers plugged into the student rumor mill?"
"Since you started putting everything on facebook." ;)

Lots of references to Ferris Bueller --- although nothing about backing a fakerari through the back of the garage. :p
