Sorry, I don't see how this can be aerodynamically effective.... The nose looks like a LEGO brick! Rear looks interesting though. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Why Ferrari? Why? McLaren seemed to be able to make a decent looking car with the 2012 regulations yet no other team can? Surely Red Bull will NOT have this nose.
Hmmm... decidedly not a pretty car at the front end. Presumably, Ferrari would not have gone with something so aesthetically awkward unless it gave a performance advantage, so fingers crossed that it'll be quick on the track. The back end does look interesting - I wonder what's going on with the diffuser. All the best, Andrew.
The nose is apparently dictated by the new rules as per the interpretation of most teams. McLaren went a different way but the question remains whether or not it is the right way. Do you want a winning car, or a beautiful car? If you want a winning car it is best to reserve judgement for a later date.
It reminds me of that Renault of two years ago. Everybody said: with that brick shaped nose, it looks impossible that this thing is gonna work. And actually it didn´t work.
I miss so much the pre-2009 era... About the mclaren, let's wait to see what the car will look like on the track. Anyway the style of the cars should be taken into consideration by the guys that come up with the rules. When F-ones will be cubes on wheels I might lose interest pretty fast !
No, this type of nose seems to be the general choice of the teams. Caterham was the first team to unveil such a car.
Yes my thoughts as well. It is a nice car minus the nose. As posted earlier lets hope the hard tyre issue has been dealt with in this design
Looks like a front end loader and that little rise by the front wheels being the juncture point for the hydraulic lift system. Perhaps there's a new button on the computer steering wheel to raise the bucket to push the competition out of the way. UGLINESS at it's finest. Carol
Look guys, the t4 was one of the uglyest cars Ferrarri ever produced..but i bet evrery one of us love it right now!!! At least i do...if this ugly thing is a winner, it will turn into a classic!!! and besides, Alonso is a lot uglyer than the car, and i can´t stand him, so, i can tolerate the car...and who knows...maybe they will change that nose...remenber Shumi´s first Ferrari in 96...although in that case, it went from a pretty nose to an ugly one!!!
From an aero point of view, it's not worse than the blunt forward edges of the driver side protection - and those are critically farther back. Ultimate reason for doing this is to raise the chassis fwd bulkhead for better underside aero. Pull-rod front suspension must use a pretty long bell-crank to get some displacement in the springs and shocks for them to work properly - especially with limited travel of the front suspension.
Wow. Hideous. That thing better go like snot or they will never resell it in the Cliente program! The only thing I can figure is they are using that up rise in front of the front axle as an additional wing. But, what's the deal with the 2 scoops for the engine intake? The car does look like Pinocchio, but I hope is a winning one. Othewise Gepetto (a.k.a Domenicalli) must leave the team....
