ex-Frank Sinatra P400S......gosh, I remember that cheap price about 8yrs ago.........didn't it have shag carpet, orange or something. Joe, please post a few photos here.
Its an original silver/white car that used to live in California, 1120280. The current owner has a collection of Lamborghinis including several Diablo race-cars. I would love to bring that LP400 back here.... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mij7r390c_s[/ame] Here is where it lives: LP400S S2, LP400, and P400S. Yes the Sinatra's Miura S had orange (Sinatra's favorite color) shag-pile carpeting. The car itself was also ordered in orange. Sinatra's private jet had orange carpeting too, as did his Palm Springs home, and he was often photographed in orange shirts. He was on record saying that orange was his favorite color - "the happiest color..."

you're right about that, thanks. These were definitely polished at some point, but to be correct they'll need to go back to black.

I am searching for a photo of a 1978(?) Countach. A friend of mine travelled to Monaco in the summer of 1978 and had his first personal Countach sighting. The car was black with bronze/gold coloured wheels and had a very special cockpit: He describes the cockpit as "taken out of a space ship" with instruments showing speed in parsec/lightyear etc. The Lambo owner, obviously being a SciFi enthusiast, had some contemporary SciFi magazines on the passenger seat when my buddy saw the car. When he recently told me about his first personal Countach sighting back in 1978 I told him I would find a photo of the car on the web. But so far I have had no luck. As this had happened in 1978 it could theoretically be an older model year as well. I never heard about an LP400 though that had bronze/gold coloured wheels. So I would think that it was a brand new LP400S. When were the first LP400S models seen on the street? Does anyone know about this particular black CT with the space ship cockpit? Thanks for your help.
I feel fairly confident that your friend was looking at Countach 1121002 in the summer of 1978 in Monaco. It was there... as you can see it is a deep dark blue which can look black in the evening. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Furthermore, this Countach has the exact instrumentation your friend described. Image Unavailable, Please Login
As posted here many times, the owner of the car your friend saw was Walter Wolf the F1 team owner. And, yes, he is a sci-fi fan with many other interests besides. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't have answers to either of your questions, but it does look to be a different shade of blue in different images doesn't it? Perhaps its the lighting... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
