Not in the case of 1283 GT. This is a long wheelbase version. 1283 GT was completed by the factory on the 11th April 1959. At the time Roger Vadim was connected with Danish actress Annette Stroyberg. Vadim divorced from "La Bardot" in 1957 already. Vadim later owned a second California Spider, a short wheelbase version with chassis number 2175 GT. Other celebrities who owned LWB and SWB California Spiders in the early years in the South of France were Alain Delon, Françoise Sagan, Johnny Hallyday (Jean-Philippe Smet), Gunther Sachs, Jean-Claude Simon and Caterina Valente. First time I have heared in my life at an auction, ""an all matching numbers car, even the bumpers are numbered and matching"" A lot of people where complaining of the quality of Mr Bajol's cars, but some had really a ""soul"" in them. And showed for what purpose these cars where built, to drive and enjoy hopefully the next owners will do that as well and will take care of the ""soul"" of these cars.
Thanks for the clarification, Marcel. Gee, it sounds like a tough row to hoe--late 1950's to early 1960's in the South of France, open 12 cylinder Ferrari, French movie starlets...
Must be a typo. The correct number is 15375. 365 GTB/4 Berlinetta Scaglietti. Original exterior color: Argento Metallizzato 106-E-1. Original interior color: Nero VM 8500 Connolly. Assembly sequence #728. Scaglietti Body #778. 16 March 1972 Factory completion date. Original exterior color: Marrone Colorado 2.443.221. Original interior color: Beige VM 3218 Connolly. Assembly sequence #326. Marcel Massini
