    I saw a report about that project before. The bleach is there to keep anything from growing in there. Otherwise, a bottle full of cozy warm water (due to the sun) would be full of algae and all kinds of bad stuff in no time.

    Solar ovens are supposed to be a major player in stopping deforestation where trees are cut to produce charcoal for cooking.
    Basically reflective foil on cardboard.

    This idea was very popular on older sailboats. They were called "deck prisms".

    But, this is a cool trick for developing nations.

    Bleach refers to a number of chemicals that remove color, whiten, or disinfect, often via oxidation. Common chemical bleaches include household chlorine bleach (a solution of approximately 3–6% sodium hypochlorite, NaClO)
