Reports have Weber all over the place in a very tail-happy RB8. It lost its solid back end of course its tail-happy! I think this car will actually be better for Webb than Vettel
But....A plane carrying the RB8's rear wing assembly was unable to land at Jerez airport due to fog, and was diverted to Seville - about two hours away instead.
I'm really pleased seeing Kimi out there lapping so well! He's a great competitor. Below you can clearly see the opening for the f-duct at the nose which is usually covered. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The flight carrying Red Bull's updated rear wing was ordered to land at another location due to fog. That was the major cause for delay during this mornings tests
Day ended today with medium and heavy fuel runs. Mclaren, RB, and Merc running in mid and upp 1:22s while Kimi was running in 1:25-1:26s.
FWIW, final times from day one; Kimi is faster than anyone went in testing there at any time last year. Cheers, Ian
Undoubtedly a very quick lap time. The last pole set at this track was of course the European GP in '97 which had a lap time of something like 1:21 flat
Pirelli brought new compounds which are supposedly quicker than last year's hence some quick times by those seeking to impress....we'll see it sorted out by Melbourne.
A bit thirsty are we? It's only testing... Although that's one bet I'd be happy to pay up on. Would be awesome if the car was up to Kimi's talent.
