It is the same car. It was re-painted during its early days by the factory more than once. Here it is when delivered in 1975 to Walter Wolf. Note that although it is outside it appears to be a darker shade of blue

    Hi!

Yes that´s my old #22. I still got the black surrounding for the instruments. As you can see the speedo and the rev counter are close together and I made a new alu plate where they are separated as original. You can also see the reworked seats looking a bit like the ones from a Miura.
As you can see from the pics I still got the steering wheel as well.
But I don´t know anything of Japan except that I sold the wheels and spoilers there.

If I only had taken some pics of the reworked rear suspension as well!!!!

Today I wouldn´t have built the car back to original spec as I think the reworked LP400 really belongs to the history.

    Ciao!

Joe, thanks a lot for your prompt reply.
But my friend now provided some more useful info that might help to identify the car and owner.

It was a black Countach with golden letters on the wing and doors reading: DARK STAR
The owner was presumably German as he spoke fluent German.
The SciFi mags on the passenger seat were the contemporary Atlan magazines derived from the Perry Rhodan series.
Interestingly, the car owner looked like the character Atlan or like the young Leif Garret:

    Atlan:
    https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=de&q=atlan&oe=utf-8&channel=suggest&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=AiwwT6rAAszjtQbZ56DZDA&biw=991&bih=632&sei=BywwT-udG5Dbsgbf44T3DA

Leif Garrett: (in his younger years with long blonde hair) with blues eyes:
    https://www.google.com/search?um=1&hl=en&safe=off&client=opera&rls=de&channel=suggest&biw=991&bih=632&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=leif+garrett&oq=leif+garrett&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=3061068l3062558l0l3062888l12l12l0l4l4l0l126l524l4.2l6l0

Also, there was a CB radio installed in the car.

Unfortunately, the reg plate is unknown. So theoretically, the car could have been from any country.
But as he said, the young owner (in his 20´s) spoke accent free fluent German (as well as Italian and French).

I would bet this povides enough info to have the car identified.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of this WW car?
Was it sold to the Louwman collection when Louwman picked up the Rosso Bianco collection?

The Louwman museum is an impressively stylish car museum or rather a shrine for the Automobile´s history:

I am wondering whether the blue Walter Wolf Countach is part of that collection.

The 2nd WW Countach was not sold to Louwman. The car is still in Germany.

    Best regards,

    Hello Joe,

the one in the Rosso Bianco is the light blue 2nd Car. The 3rd WW Countach was a dark blue car once belonging to Auto Lorenz in Sprendlingen/Germany - as far as I know this 3rd car went to Japan. The 2nd one stayed accompanied by a Miura SV with its German owner.

    Best regards,

    Kuntatsch

    1. 1120006 - white
    2. 1120148 - red
    3. 1120202 - blue
    4. 1121002 - dark blue

This means the car we are discussing is the 3rd Countach that Wolf owned.

I love the wingless 25th with that color combo. Add the Euro bumper and you have a winner. Are you buying

The older I get the more I like/appreciate a wingless Countach. Back in my younger days I thought they were ungainly w/o one. Interestingly with or without doesn't matter much to me on Diablos or Murcis though.

Peter: this car went to Ed W when new and had a great early life. It has been listed before. However, I think EBay isn't the best venue for a Countach, as evidenced by the current bid. Good cars sell privately with no trouble at all, and the market for classic Lamborghinis is strong. Case in point, December & January have been unprecedented months. No idea why that wiper was painted white though!

    Best,
