Hard to tell really. The novelty lies in part at the front and how the air flows over the hood and off to the sides exiting through the front wings. So from the sketch it is hard to see. Tail lights: the third light is sort of Giulietta like. The sketch is not that far off, just that the car is more "aggressive"! Not long to wait. 20th is the unofficial presentation
We appreciate your input to help us impatient types image the car. I agree that the sketch, a one-color side elevation, looks a bit flat as it does not do justice to the complex surfacing, but overall, the outline (especially the height and wheelbase) cannot be that far off as it's taken from the test cars. The alvolante.it story linked in the OP mentions the Giulietta-like rear lights and I've shown a hint of that. Also, I considered your previous comments about the hood scoop-to-side vents and showed something, but it's probably too far back. All good fun - thanks.
Ingegnere, nice work. There are ways PF could design that vent other than the flying trapezoid. It could be a little more linear like on that computer rendering or possible designed around a nice grate. -F Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ingegnere, what would we do without you? Absolutely gorgeous, I can definitely see some similarities between your sketch and the 8C. I thought I'd have to wait a few more weeks before seeing the new car but, after seeing your sketch, I now know what to expect. In case anyone isn't convinced by Ingegnere's sketch as I am, take a look at his impressions of the 458 Italia and FF which he posted here long before Ferrari released official pictures. Thanks, but as they say on those mutual fund ads: "past performance is not a guarantee of future results." If I have time, I'll revise the sketch to make it more aggressive, per ChalStrad comments - I have some ideas. OT: regarding the 458, I had a lot more to go on than this car - but not the front, which I ultimately guessed wrong - the front grille opening wider at the bottom and missing the kick-up spoilers on each side and forward of the front wheels, which seemed to me to be late revisions. So, I was surprised to find (on FChatter Arthomobile.fr's site) a picture of an early wind tunnel model with almost exactly the same design front clip: Image Unavailable, Please Login
I hope you will have some time ! I really enjoy what's going on with your sketches and Peter's infos. We should create a game. "Guess the design of the next Ferrari"
Thanks for the sketches ingegnere, can't wait to see the revised one! we will wait for some sketches also as soon as the enzo successor mules appear!
I read on the web a guy who has a deposit on one claimed the 599 replacement will get 751 hp Could someone confirm?
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/02/08/ferrari-to-unveil-new-f620-in-geneva/ Ferrari to unveil new F620 in Geneva By Noah JosephRSS feed Posted Feb 8th 2012 1:28PM It's not every day that Ferrari unveils a new model. And most of the time, when it does, it's a variant of an existing one. But when the doors open at the Geneva Motor Show next month, word has it that the House that Enzo Built will be showcasing an all-new front-engined V12 GT to replace the long-serving 599. Dubbed F620, the all-new supercar is expected to pack a 6.2-liter version of the direct-injection V12 from the FF into an aluminum chassis. Expect the usual smattering of carbon fiber bits, but don't expect to see the costly material being used for structural components: Ferrari has discounted the application due to its high cost to manufacture and repair. Also off the table for this model is the part-time all-wheel-drive system from the FF, as the F620's anticipated 700 horsepower will drive the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. However accurate the forecasted specifications turn out to be, we'll find out one way or another next month. News Source: AutoBild via Motor Authority
Why 6.2 and not 6.3 ? Maybe for an even more High RPM engine, a little less torkey than the 6.3 FF engine ...
Anybody with an invite trying to make it to Maranello from the US with this snow and ice over there know if this has been postponed. My air and hotel is booked, but no info forthcoming. Boy as they say in UK " could not arrange a piss up in a brewery"
