While all the carbon bits are at the paintshop, I've just pulled the trigger on ZIP22's carbon fibre engine panels for my Scuderization project. To make complicate matters, I was also offered by a contact in Germany for a brand new Scuderia rear bumper. I know I shouldn't but the offer was too good to turn my back on. So yes, I pulled the trigger as well.

Now all I'm left with is the alcantara dash and interior panels....Nahhhhh....wait....

More carbon porn...pic courtesy of ZIP22

Once all the bits and pieces are complete, installation is going to be a real *****. So much on the list to go through. Hopefully I don't screw up the door locking mechanism.

Would you happen to know where I can get a cf splitter for my Scud at a reasonable price. I think I paid like $1200 for the one on my 430 from Fabspeed but the only one I'm finding for this car is from Ferrari and it's $4400.

I know that RTUNED is selling one that in Europe through eurospares.co.uk. It costs about 524 euro, that's 700$ + VAT.

Have you considered a Halon or Halotron extinguisher? Dry chemicals are usually very corrosive and cleanup difficult. I got a Halotron because of that.

Could you tell us what the cost for the expansion tank cover was. I have a friend looking at a Scud with a faded expansion tank?

I found the splitter eurospares and it was in stock. $425

Significant difference from the Ferrari price of $4400!

I saw one advertised a while back from Ferrari of Seattle, I thought it was more like $2000?

Sounds like you are converting your car to US Carbon specs. Would be nice to let other's know who are thinking about a 2008 how much it would cost to add this after the fact.

Now you just need the rear diffusor.

What chemical compound does Halotron use? I can fill up my extinguisher basically with any compound, even vodka. LOL. Jokes aside, seriously, what does Halotron contain? I had the impression dry chem was what most race cars use as it would not corrode the engine compartment. Think I might have got it all wrong. Please enlighten.

Make sure that is the one for the Scuderia. I found one on Eurospares but it was for the F430.

If its for the Scud, please share the link. USD$425 is a steal!

Yes, the diffuser in full carbon would be sweet. Why didn't I think of that...oh well, next project then.

There has been a carbon diffuser for sale on German ebay (ebay.de) for quite some time.

    http://www.ebay.de/itm/Heckspoiler-Carbon-FERRARI-Scuderia-16M-80935900-/350471730792?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item5199be3668#ht_500wt_969

Price is 4900 euro, thats about 6500$ so they dont come cheap... Price new on eusrospers is 9000 euro or 12500$, not sure if tax is included in that price.

I have seen non originals for about 2200 euros (about 3000$) on ebay, there was one listed on italian sale site subito.it last week...

On second thought, I'll stick to the normal diffuser. My 430 diffuser cracked when the technicians removed it for exhaust installation. I was able to have a panel shop mend the crack. This happened twice. can't imagine how it could be mended on a carbon diffuser.

That is a little strange, I removed mine a few days ago to check on the exhaust mounts and I found it to be a quite sturdy piece of plastic... I would love to change mine to carbon, but can’t really afford it right now…

I'm not an extinguisher expert by any means but I talked with a few car nuts locally and researched it and found that Halon 1211 and Halotron I is used by the aviation industry. It is non-corrosive and if it's used on airplanes and aircraft rescue, it must be a step above dry chemical. I have a Halotron I extinguisher. Try Google both and maybe some aircraft guys here might know more. BTW, your 430 Madness is just WOW!

I had a lot of conversation with eurospares regarding the splitter and it's definitely for a
Scuderia. They are getting their parts from Rtuned. I'm going to wait and see what the quality is like and then I'll make a decision if I want to do the rear diffuser.

The headlights cost me $10k. Insane but there from Ferrari.
