I understand that these cars have some expensive parts.....but sometimes it just makes NO SENSE at all. I also know we are all aware of the craziness but sometimes I still get suprised.

Its an exhaust bypass valve......are the Ferrari ones filled with precious jewels?

    Like I said....INSANE!!!!

I've been browsing parts on ebay for quite some time, and that store is consistently stratospheric. Yes, we have some expensive parts to deal with, but I don't think their prices reflect the norm, really.

If you don't ask for $718 you wont get $718....;)

They had what 1300+ positive feedback. Must be selling something to someone. Most likely independant shops that pass along the cost to uninformed owners. Not a lot different from contractors or trades people who pass stuff over on uniformed or vulnerable homeowners...sad.

I understand free enterprise, supply and demand, etc... I also understand that many probably think that if you can afford a Ferrari than what are you crying about? Well, I can afford a house as well, does that mean I should pay triple for the furniture compared to a person that rents?

One poster got it right, these sellers are simply waiting for that one un-informed buyer that thinks he/she must have this part.

    Boys, boys, boys...........

You know Ferrari makes almost nothing when it comes to our 348's, and that they can be outsourced at sane prices. Pretty much the only thing that you have to pay the Ferrari tax on would be brand new body parts. As for the little replacement items, almost all of them can be cross referenced. It just takes time to do the research, if it hasn't already been done.

So let's all just have a good laugh at that asking price.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!! :D :D :D

Time to get into the business of parting 348's at those prices! How much would a used bolt go for, $300? Man I could add everything up and have a $1M part out. Just need to find thousands of suckers out there.

On a serious note, this is just sad. Sad that there is actually enough possibility that they might sell it that it is even worth there time to list it at that price.

What I also find interesting is watching how the prices of some parts skyrocket once the part has been classified as problematic. For example, look how the prices jumped on F355 interior "sticky parts" on eveyone started to talk about them. And you think FNA doesn't watch FChat? LOL Thank God for Daniel and Robbie/Stickynomore.

Also remember that Maranello Concessionaires has a complete monopoly on ALL parts from Ferrari, Spa.

:) I can't imagine how anyone stays in business doing that! I've seen the same parts and magazines on ebay for months and months!

    $19 at NAPA auto parts.

All well documented in the parts exchange section.

    I am using them myself.

Exotiparts ALWAYS has stupid high prices on everything they sell on ebay... This is nothing new, they and Specialized Italian Recycling (I think they now call themselves "Worldwide Exotic Auto Recyclers") have been ripping-off rich dummies for years. People like us are too smart to buy from either of them, they prey on dipchits with more dollars than sense. I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from either of them, even if they had the last one on earth!

They will buy a wrecked Ferrari for $10-$12K and try to part it out for $200-$300K!!!

FerrParts is the only place where you can get a fair deal on used parts... perfect example --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-348-fits-many-Non-return-Valve-148494-/120758145620?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item1c1dbf1254
Same part, 1/3 the price! No, I don't work there or anything, i'm just a VERY satisfied repeat customer for 4 years now!!

Even at $200.00 it is a rip off. These things are $20.00 brand new for any other car. I dont begrudge anyone a living, but knowing you have a corner on the market and then taking complete advantage says volumes about the industry.

George, you'll have to admit, a Ferrari, any Ferrari for that matter, is NOT like another car, tell me if you were getting the same kind of looks when you were driving the Cayman S .... did you ? Or make you feel good like ... not too many people are as privileged like us .... we are lucky my friend !

I agree wholeheartedly. I have been very blessed in most aspects of my life and the mear fact that I can afford to take care of my family AND own a Ferrari makes me (and most of us here) very fortunate.

But, I still have a real problem with poeple taking total advantage of the situation.....like $700.00 for a $10.00 PCV valve!!!!! I stand by what I said....that is crazy.

I see your point, and I totally agree when it comes to such an item.
My point was simply that when it comes to used parts in general, Ferrparts blows everyone else away. Unfortunately there is no generic universal equivalent for most parts on these cars, and ExotiParts is NOT the place to consider for such used parts.

I was just browsing the site and came accross this post.
I am the owner of Exotic Auto Recycling, worldwide_exotic_auto_recycling on ebay. I am in no way connected to Specialized Italian Recycling. Generally speaking I am roughly half of new for a used part that I sell with a warranty. +/- a little based on supply and demand. I do nothing but Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini. In most cases I am well less then half. It's not to say that I can't make a mistake from time to time and get a price wrong and list it too high. It is hard to keep up to date when Ferrari is constantly changing there prices and also keeps them so private. With that said I am always willing to work with any customer on a price that works for both of us. I wan't to sell parts, move them, not collect them. I have worked with a lot of F-Chat members, and to my knowledge everyone has been happy with the service I have given them. I have currently been working with Rob Lay on becoming a sponsor, I hope to one day be able to participate in this site on a sponsor's level.
I also want to touch on another subject. These wrecked Ferrari's that I buy bring a lot of money at auctions. It is not as easy to get out of them as some may think. I will give you a example this 360 that I have pictured cost me over $22k to buy. Factor in all the normal operating costs to run a business, its not all gravy. With that said, I love what I do, I love working with these cars. I come to work everyday excited on what the day may bring in the Ferrari parts world.

    Thanks, Ryan
