My little collection in Hong Kong

I started off with a very small collection “donated” by a friend from whom I bought my first Ferrari, a fiber-glass 308GTB. It was in my early twenties. And when my collection reached 80, I was interviewed by Automobile Magazine and Car and Driver Magazine as the biggest non-commercial collector of red Ferrari miniatures in Hong Kong.

Stubbornly I continue to worship that all Ferraris should be red. Just like the good old days from Enzo. So I only collect red Ferraris. Today my collection is a mix of hand-made and ready-made, a mix of resin, plastic, diecast and steel, a mix from 1:1 to 1:300 scale, all without any duplicates. Some has to been placed in storage because my cabinet just couldn’t fit 329 Ferraris.

There are simply too many Ferrari miniatures around the world from different individuals, workshops and manufactures. And some are extremely detail, rare, and unaffordable. There is simply no way I (or anybody in the world) can claim to have a complete collection of this legendary prancing horse. But I will continue to pile up and pass on to my next generation. Afterall, everyone deserves a hobby!
