Really... How many people have you seen do this and what did they go to that made them want to come back to the CS?
They like to flip cars. Some do it to minimize depreciation. For example since the under 10k CS market is strong, by one under 10k miles, keep it a year, sell it back for same price a year later with still under 10k miles.
No problem, Jon. Congrats!! Glad it went to a good home. Yessir. Hi Roy!! You ready for another CS? Actually, your new avatar was the inspiration for updating mine. I believe so Jerry. Check your User CP settings under "Edit Avatar" to see the maximum acceptable file size.
Off the top of my head I know of at least 10, that's right, TEN. There's something unique and special about the CS, despite its age and performance stats (compared to newer and more tech advanced modern Fcars), the CS evokes a kind of sensation and soul stirring experience that only the CS knows how to do. Don't forget the incredible sound when the CS blips on downshifts and at WOT!! I've driven many Fcars... F40, 16M, Scuds, 599 GTO, FF, 458's to just name a few and the CS still remains my all time favorite. One Fchatter just traded in his CS for a 599 GTO; I bet he'll add another CS to his quiver in the future. Similarly, you nearly put your CS up for sale just 3 weeks ago and I guarantee you would've eventually been back in in the market for one shortly after picking up an ACR. Yes, the CS is THAT special that some guys cut it loose to only come full circle and pick up another one. It's definitely not unheard of.
I made the remark because I have Jons old CS and can think of several others. I believe one had three at different times but not sure. They were not flipping them for depreciation. Several changed to scuds only to go back to a CS. The CS is simply better than the sum of its parts. I drove the scud but it does not do it for me. Going up to FOSD thursday to see about a 458;however, I will never part with my CS. It is just to fun.
The original owner of my cs bought the 430 (pre-ordered and on the 'list'), later wanted the CS back. Sure the 430 was faster, but ... I always regarded the CS as the poor mans F40. Not in a sarcastic way but in a logical sense. Nearly the same amount of fun (or more depending on your driving ability) for a lot less headache and 1/5th the price. One of my top 5 cars of all time.
I'm going to echo that same comment about the F40, but in a different way. I don't regard it as a poor mans F40, I regard it as the spiritual successor to it. Sure it's not turboed, but along the same vein. The CS is in my top 3 favorite cars of all time. Guess what number one is? The F40...
I'm on my third CS and have owned an F40 too. In my opinion the CS is a better car then the F40 for the street, and since I don't track my cars, (If I sell my CS) there will be a fourth.
I thought 'v tach' bought it. I talked to him a few weeks or less ago and he told me he bought it back. Congrats, hope to see it around town whenever I'm back in Austin!!
I'm in the market for my first Ferrari (I feel like a little kid)...and I'm sold on a CS....so I was hoping you could humor me with a couple rookie questions. Are the red and black calipers actually different or is it just color?....if it doesnt have a radio what should I expect to pay for an install? Anyone have any insight on the history of this one? http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/Search/DRauSearchDetails.aspx?itemid=1139429 Much appreciated
Brakes are the same...its just paint. You can have them painted any color you want for not too much $$. Also do a search on f-chat about adding the stereo. I have to say there are different opinions out there but I literally have never and will never use the radio in my CS. That is 134726. Send a PM to "NNO" and ask him what he knows...its in his serial number database (it doesn't show up anywhere else on F-chat - I did a search). I would almost bet someone on here owned it at some point...
Here we go.... For what it would probably cost to put a stereo in a CS correctly, you would probably be better off finding one with a radio, if it is that important to you. The CS at Ferrari of ATL is a beautiful example of a pristine CS. I took a look at it a few weeks ago. Perfect!
^^ Thanks for the feedback on that one in Atlanta.....I plan to drive up there on Tuesday to take a look.
