Must... resist the urge... to post... the NSX F50... and risk... permanent ban...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/replica-3000-gt-/170784210748?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item27c3883f3c This is a disgrace! the 3000GT is basically a poor mans exotic car especially if you get a VR4 convertible. Either way even if its just an SL you can do some great things with it but turning it into a Ferrari shouldn't be one of them.
Worst part is, it's not even supposed to be a "Ferrari" look-a-like, it's just got a bunch of odd aftermarket parts on it, along with a horsey! Shiny Side Up! Bill
I want to punch this guy in the face. He has successfully ruined one of my 3 favorite cars. Such a shame.
I believe that is the same car that was in post #3062. I remember seeing the photos of the car while it was still under construction. He certainly put a lot of work into it, but it will never be an F40. However, I must give him credit for producing the most similar replica and restraining from putting Ferrari and Pininfarina badges on it.
+1. He should at least have the decency to throw-in the original parts he is trying to pimp separately: http://www.ebay.com/sch/herotuncay75/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686 Oh well, hopefully he'll lose his a$$ on it and learn from his mistakes.
yes its the NZ car I mentioned in my post (3062) but the link to the photos I put up is not the NZ car, but one built in the UK from an original f40 frame and original repaired panels which runs a 355 engine. The NZ car runs a toyota motor and contains no original f40 components. A chap in the UK is building a f40 rep based originally on 308 bodywork but using a lotus esprit frame http://www.madmechanics.com/forum/build-diaries/12159-f40-slow-but-worth-build.html
+1, although he does call himself "F40 Motorsports," with the F40 logo similar enough that a copyright lawyer could probably make a good case if he wanted to. This is a respectable replica in that it's not trying to pass itself off as an original Ferrari. A lot of work went into it, and it is a powerful high performance car in its own right. It's also damn near as unaffordable as a real F40.
Wow!! That one is pretty bad! Kinda funny about the front emblems.........Take note of the "reversed" prancing horse for the front grille! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Moving forward on this thread.......Here's a Murcielago Replica built on a Nissan 300ZX! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some high hopes http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120858641901&clk_rvr_id=316883874890 Seriously?
That Murcielago thing is hideous. 10 000 quid (roughly 12k euro), compared to a likely negotiable 19k euro for that 240Z GTO here: http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/276197316.htm?ca=22_s (And I'm not on the market for a replica, thank God, I was looking at 240Z's)
