Sorry if this has been posted, I looked and didn't see it. Very interesting article about the F620 and the F70. 800 NA HP plus 120 more KERS. Plus a picture. Thoughts? http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/1204_sneak_preview_ferrari/index.html
I read back months ago that Ferrari may be aiming to beat the Veyron, I didn't believe it. But damn 920 hp at that weight! Wow!!!!!
It is incorrect to call 800 hp + 120 hp Kers = 920 hp. The Kers isn't going to help one bit on top end pull, which is where that kind of power can get put down.
wow that looks great .. altho maybe a little to much 458 stlye influence to be the Enzo successor .. but I wonder how close it is Image Unavailable, Please Login
I hope it will be sounds like zonda but why F70 with 7.3 liter can meet the emission standards but Pagani couldn't? old pictures http://www.gtspirit.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/New_Enzo_480x280.JPG http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_r2IQ9XulaxY/TJqY0vMM2SI/AAAAAAAAIuc/hZE_gMxN3YE/s400/Ferrari+Enzo+Concept+3.jpg http://luxedb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/World%E2%80%99s-Most-Expensive-Cars-Ferrari-F70-2.jpg
I may be wrong be I don't know of any current N.A. motor that gets 1.8 hp per cubic inch. The new Enzo motor is 7.3 liters, which means it is 445 cubic inches That would be like a N.A. Chevy 350 having 630 hp.....Mark
The Ariel Atom Mugen uses a 2.0 litre (122 cubic inches) Mugen Honda K20 unit that delivers 270hp which is 2.2 hp per cubic inch. The regular Honda Civic Mugen uses the same engine with milder tune for 1.94 hp per cubic inch. The 458 Italia makes 2 hp per cubic inch.
I bet that half the info is wrong. They must be referring to the 6.3 litres FXX V12; that 7.3 must be a typo! That engine is good for almost 900 CV on the FXX Evoluzione, so I expect it to feature in the new Enzo too. About that KERS, I am not that certain. It is going to be a hell of a car though!
KERS can be used for both VMAX and Passing. This system won't be KERS it will be hybrid. P 4/5 Competizione Modificata and F1 cars use KERS. KERS is recaptured Kenetic energy from braking the car. Hybrid is energy generated by the petrol engine stored for reuse. It will interesting to see how it looks...
Mclaren Automotive have built up their hybrid tech team in the last 6 months. Even though Ferrari will sell all of the 'F70', they'd still want to keep it on a par with the new Macca 'F1' I'd say
That's the ugliest automobile I've ever seen. On the flipside, 800 naturally aspirated horsepower in a car that weighs 2500 lbs is completely absurd.
I just don't understand the drastic side vents and horribly misplaced rear window louvres. This isn't 1985, and Jim Glickenhaus built something way better looking (with rear window louvres, even) 5 years ago. Not only is it bad retro, but it completely ignores all of the meaningful style bars that were set in the last decade. The Enzo looks better, in my opinion. The rear wing lip and rear 3/4 of the car are about the only redeeming qualities to me. They come straight from the 458.
I heard the new super Ferrari will boast 800 HP then again Lamborghini will unleash a 800 HP limited edition car to celebrate their 50th Anniversary in 2014
Audi has achieved that with the engine in the RS5 and RS4, they are 4.14 liters and put out 450 hp. 4.14 liters is 252 cubic inches.
If Ferrari is "Truly" interested in making a "Super Car", why not just turbo charge it and easily approach the covented "1,000" hp mark??!!.....Mark
Funny thing is the 288 GTO and F40 were not the pinnacle of anything. They looked like the hottest supermodel and they went like snot. Ferrari doesnt need to reinvent the wheel just pull at our heartstrings. Just make the car drop down gorgeous. Who cares about the numbers anymore. After the Veyron the number are meaningless.
