    2008 430 spyder, Had service done drained engine oil out of 2 drains under engine looks like one is the engine pan and the other is the gear box ( I think) added about 10 qts now it looks like there is a red gear box lamp lit up on dash. Left vehicle in shop, any advice would be much appreciated.

    The engine oil has two separate drain plugs but further towards the rear is the gearbox's own drain plug. Perhaps you drained from the rear engine oil plug and the gearbox plug and then only refilled the engine oil, meaning your gearbox is empty. Was one of the plugs you removed at a 45 degree angle? If so, that was the gearbox. (both engine oil plugs sit flat to the bottom of the car)

    As long as you haven't driven the car you should simply be able to re-fill the gearbox with 2.5-3 quarts of fluid. Admittedly I would want to re-do the engine oil though and properly drain from both of it's plugs but that's just my opinion.

    Thanks but the rear drain plug was not at a 45 it was flat and has the mesh screen in it, on the tach gauge everything seems to be okay its just the little red gear box that stays on, maybe something got knocked loose? I have my own repair shops with 10 techs but we dont work on ferraris, the man that worked on it is very competent on cars just never worked on this kind of vehicle, no info on any of our data bases. I orderd a copy of the service manual but wont have it till next week. Any more info would be greatly appreciated. I can help out with info on other cars, ferrari's just a different beast. Thanks

    Where did you order the workshop manual from???been locking for one. Found one on ebay posting from England,have not had luck with overseas shipments.....
