Toronto FChat Go Kart time?

Guys it's been several years since we've got together to do some winter go-karting. I miss seeing Mr. Apex miss the apex (where is he anyways?) and I miss BigRed in a track suit trapped under a tire wall up to his neck! I miss Rock shutting the door on me lap after lap and Nuvolari with his freshly painted helmet worrying about scratches.


We usually have gone to Formula Kartways off the 410 in the past. They are quite accommodating with us and set up a qualifying and two or three races. I think they can handle 10-12 at a time but I can check.

The alternative is gpkartways at Downsview park which are electric except that they don't do the qualifying and race set ups. It's just an "Arrive and Drive" type thing.

So is there any interest in this? Suggested dates? Preferred venue? Perhaps a Saturday night or if it is more convenient a night during the week?

Ok, so I'll throw a date out. Probably be better during the week. How does Monday March 5, 2012 sound? Early evening. If we get a consensus here in the next day or two I will call and book it.

 

It may not be an issue if we do a corporate event. Age limit is 13 and older. I think the question is do we want to have kids there? I know sometimes it gets aggressive. Maybe they can go on as single rides rather than race with us? Personally I don't care either way.

Just looking at their site it appears they have changed the pricing for group events. It's quite a bit higher now. Do we maybe want to consider getting a Groupon when it comes out and just doing an unlimited night rather than a race?

 

Sometimes they do a Groupon special, one price for all you can race, or do we want to pay to have a corporate event? Qualifying and 2 races?

 

No all the glory is found in burying you under a wall of tires.... Bring an old track suit for this one!

Groupon deal is every few months and I haven't seen one in a while. I'll keep a look out over the next few days and I'll let everyone know when if it comes out.
