I'll quite naturally say the 328, but then I'm not all that worried about resale value.

Jon: Here's a recent pic just to prove she's being taken care of :)

Of the 'normal production 8 cylinder cars (to date), the 360 will be the most coveted.

    Why?

It is simply far and away the most beautiful.

I like your comments. Man, you've had a LOT of nice cars, too. Knowing my luck lately, the most coveted car will probably be whichever one I just sold.

Agree on the 360, both standard version and CS. The Modena is a near-perfect design...only the front end detracts, and its still nowhere near bad. Definitely my first choice for a step up.

    PpptttttttttttttTTTT!!!

The 360 sucks, I never liked the look of the 360. Of all the V8's mentions it's the ugliest of them all.

On looks alone, 308 GTB (euro), followed by the 355 and 328. 328 is a better driver, but less raw, and arguably less pretty (huge bias here :D ). Tough to say how it will all pan out. The 355 would probably be the best all arounder (fairly fast, pretty, comfortable), but the scary maintenance costs hold it back for now. That might change.

It's the 365bb, the most iconic Ferrari design. Ooops....no V8. Sorry.

Don't like the standard 360 Modena. But the front end of the Challenge Stradale is beautiful...

From my scan of the posts here - it would be really interesting to see the ages of the people posting.

I'm in my mid 40's and to me the 308/328 series is the only post Enzo series that has any investment potential... and not much at that.

I've never been a 360 / 430 fan - looks wise - they are great cars that you can use every day, reliable etc... ( compared to 308 / 328's ) but I just dont see them as classics... but if I were 16 - 20 they most probabbly would be THE car!

I would think the relative high production numbers will go against 308/ 328 series, but otherwise they are cars that are almost like Enzo era cars... relatively hand made, flawed - beautiful to look at, have classic sports car handling, make great noise etc... they have all the things that the super Enzo era Ferrari's have .... while the 355 - 360 - 430's just are a completely different animal.

The 355 is heart achingly beautiful.... I just wish they were better made - I'd have one now!
the huge mtns cost & long list of potential $$$ issues just keeps me away - & I think that will hurt them for a while... Dino like story. In 30 years the survivors may indeed be worth a lot!

    Tom,

I'm 62, first had a '64 330 2+2 and now have an '83 308 GTS. Both reliable cars once everything got fixed.

The 308 retains elements and feel of the Enzo era but does have features that are forward looking. Investment potential: if I could break even on the purchase price now I'd feel lucky, but who can predict? The 330 more than doubled in market price during the 4 1/2 years I owned it...I actually came out ahead, purchase price and ALL expenses included.

If there's to be a next Ferrari, it'll be a post-2000 model, 360 Modena or 550. I like the practicality and daily-useability aspects of the 308, but as I get older am wanting more comfort and safety features, and wouldn't mind more go at all. My wife can't drive a manual and the F1 trans would allow her to drive auto mode in a pinch.

I'm grateful that I had the opp to own a real Enzo era V12, but wouldn't buy another one...out of my price range now and I like a car usable and insurable as a regular DD. Babying a classic and taking it out once a week doesn't appeal to me.

Really? I think that the Stradale is the best proportioned Ferrari since the 288. Everything is just balanced visually: the shape, the nose intakes, the sharp side skirts, the little duck tail on the decklid, Challenge wheels and grill.

I prefer the look of both the CS and the regular 360 Modena over the F430. There is something about the rear end of that car that displeases me.

I recently attended a car show with several mid engine examples from the 246 GT up to a 458 Italia, although no F40s or genuine 288 GTOs were on display. It was educational to see a 308 side by side with a 328.

Of the models at the show, and this is obviously subjective, in design I'd rate the V-8s:

(The order of preference between the following cars is close. They are all drop dead gorgeous in my book.)

    308 GTB
    308 GTS
    F355 Berlinetta
    F355 Spyder
    328 GTB
    328 GTS

While all beautiful, the cars below aren't on the same tier as the ones above. It wasn't as hard to rank them.

    360 Modena
    360 Spyder
    458 Italia
    348 TB/GTB
    F430

I'm not sure any of these cars will ever be worth mega bucks. But I think in the long run, looks are more important that performance or reliability.

    Yup.

It's just does nothing for me. I see one and think,"Eh, big deal". They are very bland looking. They may have been designed to be more comfortable, and driver friendly, but in the looks department, YUCKO! The 430 was only marginally less ugly.

Then we have the 458, now THAT is a beautiful Ferrari. Not since the 355 has the factory produced a car so good looking. The 458 is the shiznitz in the looks department. The first time I saw one on the street I thought, "Oh WOW" and I stared at it. The 360 has none of that for me, it gets the "yeah whatever". But the 458 I have no problem studying the lines and the shape, and looking at it close up, then stepping back and looking at a distance, squatting down and looking down it's side, looking at it's curves, examining, and studying it. From all angles it's a beautifully sculpted design, it's sexy. Ferrari finally knocked one out of the park with the 458. I once again get excited when I see a 458. Not so with the 360, does not excite me at all.

Saw a dark blue 355 spider at an Italian Club car show this past weekend in PHX. Very nice! Not sure what specific color it was but looked a lot like yours. Nice!
