"One of my clients has decided to consign a 1967 Sebring Coupe, with, of all the crazy ideas, Lucas fuel injection. These cars are little gems, and at first glance they look like Ferrari coupes of that era. I'm surprised there's not more buzz about them. This one appears to be a very nice driver, but needs a new interior. I'll post pics when I get them. It starts right up and the engine runs smoothly. It has been sitting for a while. The interior needs to be redone and it probably needs a really good service in terms of fluids, belts, rubber etc and draining the gas tank and refilling with fresh fuel. The Lucas Fuel Injection is fully functional, go figure.

I took these at the storage facility. The car had just been started. It definitely needs new seals in the fuel line connectors as there was some leakage when the car started. What was amazing however was how it started. One shot and it it was running. The Odometer is is in Km's and shows 83,000. You've got a 1963 (not 1967) Maserati 3500 GTIS Vignale, series I. Known later in production as a "Sebring", It's a fairly early car. It should have a 3500 engine, 5-spd and disc brakes on all 4. Other options? These are great cars and very under valued. Check the bonnet and boot lid, are they steel or aluminum? How about the Jack and tool roll? What kind of horns??? Was it German delivery or Swiss? Walter Baeumer may have more for you, or you can awlays contact Maserati Classiche for original documents, build sheets etc. Don't run it until you at least change the oil! Make sure you fix the all fuel seals. ...just my .02 Lira! ~Trev
Thanks for the info.We suspected it was a Series 1 car, but I don't know enough about these. The hood and trunk lid are aluminum. I confirmed that with a magnet. I have no idea as to original delivery but I know it's been in Arizona for a long, long time, therefore no corrosion.The ID plate on the left hand side of the Engine compartment is in German however. It's such a beautiful car. I love the lines and the balance. Alex Traverso is the tech and he filled it with fresh oil and it ran great. I'm sure it will go to a deserving new owner who will appreciate it.

Interesting, we don't know the history of the car. It's possible that this Sebring has not its orginal engine. I was not able to locate the number on the straight six.
