    Yes, because the zinc level drops as the oil deteriorates. In the Lola oil analysis, it drops by 100ppm after one race meeting.

    You want to have as much as possible to start with, combined with the highest quality base stock for the oil itself. Again, Redline and Royal Purple are the only oils that tick all the boxes for our cars.

    There is nothing out there that I would replace them with ATM, so it might be a while before you get a chance :)

    I tried to sell you a bike a while back, remember? Tucked safely back in the collection now, got to get in quick! Did you hear there was a big auction coming in Monaco? ;)

    I've spoken to 3 different mechanics and engine builders and 3 out 0f 3 say "DON'T USE PENRITE". It's mixed from cheap crappy oils to start it's life from. 2 guys told me that they had problems with the oil burning.

    I've got some ROYAL PURPLE coming from USA. Thanks to AMAZON.COM

    you're thinking of "Royal Jelly" or is that KY jelly ?

    I know you think I'm mad......"most people I know think that I'm crazy", but I just want the best for my cars.

    One guy said that most oils are really good compared with what we had 40 years ago.

    The biggest answer to this is to start up the cars and warm them up at least once a month.
    Which is what I'm going to do from now on.

    I do think you're mad, but not for that reason.

    Are you sure you can't get that oil locally? I think I have a local contact where I bought some from.

    When you say start them and warm them, you know you have to drive them, right? So everything gets hot, not just the engine.

    I bought 12 Ltr's of KY jelly off AMAZON for you and Blackjag. Cost me $96. I have a business address in ANAHEIM CA and I have all my US stuff sent there and it's sent every week to Australia. So it's really easy for me to get stuff from the US. That's why I use Beverly Hills Ferrari for parts.

    Hey "RATS" happy to have it,ideal for leather seats and leather dash pads.Try it on the leather in the BB,no smell,no grease,easy to wipe off and softens the leather.

    there's a high performance 10w40 and then there's a high performance "XPR" 10w40.

    I got the high performance 10w40. Not sure if I need the EXTREME high performance.
    I'll have to do more research.

    Did you buy the Royal Purple HPS?

    I just looked on Amazon.com but could only see their API approved oils - not HPS (which is what you need to get the high concentration of ZDDP).

    I got it from Autopro @ $85 for 5 litres

    Absolutely, extremely important to get the engine OIL up to temperature, not just the water. Oil has to be hot enough to evaporate the fuel and condensation that naturally contaminates it. Normally takes a 30 minute drive to do this.

    Also, you want to have exercised your brakes, shock absorbers, gearbox oil seals, etc. A car that has sat around for years and just had the engine run will require a lot of work to use on the road again.

    I bought the high performance SAE 10w40 Royal Purple. There is another on which is called "extreme" high performance XPR 10w40 which is around $230 for 12 litres.
    I paid around $112 us for 12 litres OR 12 quarts. I'll have a look at it when it arrives and if I need the other one (XPR), I'll get that.

    On the carbi's. I got pulled up by a scrutineer at a track day last year saying they wanted a second spring on the carbi's to shut them off should the main spring fail. I explained there WERE 4 springs on each carbi and for all "4" to break would be near impossible.

    Anyways, I don't want a problem at PI in a few weeks so had one fitted.
