Judging by the exhaust, it could very possibly be the 599 successor's mule. Judging from the shadowed release photo, I knew I would hate the "620's" design. (sarcasm)
I confirm it was the F620 GT mule I've got another video I took in 2010, one of the very 1st videos about the 599 successor! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yc_5t1buOcI[/ame]
The exhaust sound in that 620 GT clip------to me does not sound as aggressive as the 599 GTO. I was hoping for more of a GTO exhaust sound than what I just heard. Not saying it was bad----------just not there with the GTO.
I think we all want them to sound like an F1 V12 from the late seventies. Let's not forget the EU regulations they are trying to meet in regards to decibel levels. There are YouTube clips of a 458 with silencers on it running on an EU track.
Will be interesting to see what the final name is. We always think we know and they always fool us, but them I repeat myself.
Ok I'm going to weigh in on my guess for the way the new F620 will look: -Front end will have center grill like the FF but smaller with similar vents on either side. -Front headlight shape will again look like the FF /458 with the long narrow taper look -Front hood will have a single scoop vent with angular details. -Rear 3/4 window will be much smaller than current window of 599. -Roofline will be lower in the rear. -Rear end will feature taillights like the FF with exposure of the sides of the lights. -Rear deck lid will incorporate rear glass so no flying buttress. -Rear bumper will feature a double diffuser like the FF . -Twin exhausts on either side.
A guy who was in Maranello last Monday reported it is a compact car and looks like a new interpretation of 250/275/550. He said it looks pretty!!!
Was in Maranello yesterday... Car is quite impressive in terms of technology and power....lighter than 599 and very powerful! Body reminds me the FF in the front (but more aggressive) 575 on the lateral rear view and a bit of 8C (heavier) on the back. The back is the part that leaves me more doubtful. Inside very beautiful and innovative. 2 new colors (one very cool!) Name is still a secret (wondering Daytona?...hope not!!) Beauty wise i agree with Davide....GTO is unique.
After I saw the teaser pic, I made this sketsch, does it look like it? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thx Davide and Andrea. Of course - GTO is always a number!!! According to your reports - car looks not so bad and the technical part is without discussion, isn't it?
Performance is impressive and the power is above expectations even versus the GTO. Ligher that the standard 599 but slighly heavier than GTO. Having said that, they say the car is for everyone and therefore quite easy to drive and not "brutal" in terms of handling as the GTO (that's why I love my car)!!! Boot is very practical vs the old 599 with connection to the back....
Daytona name is unlikely, the orginal designation of 'Daytona' on the 365GTB/4 was unofficial and I believe other car and bike companies (Dodge and Triumph) own the rights to the name? Could be wrong on the last part though.
Sort of. It reminds me the portellone of the 8 cylinders...the one that covers the engine on the back...you have to put the luggage from the top because the lower part does not open... Btw...A VERY cool detail....the rear fog light is the same of the F1 car.
Let's hope it is something new and original rather than rehashing an old name. I always thought the originally mooted '600 Imola' was a much better name than '599 GTB Fiorano'. Jonathan
a friend of mine told me it would be something like that.... Confirmed third door... sent from my ICS android
