That cradle has been power washed clean. The car is not in the best of shape and we are trying to limit everything to mechanical repairs.
Haha, thanks Dan, that's putting it gently. Remember this post? http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140787178&postcount=20 ------- Erik
Do you plan on replacing the the rusted hose clamps on the hoses you are not replacing ? The one in the front of the radiator hose on the left side radiator looks pretty bad Also where can you get the yellow marking paint you use to mark the hoses that have been tighten and checked ?? Is it anything special ? Looking forward to the Dyno results. Great work, great pictures and excellent write ups.
In my experience, you would be MAD to change just that clamp. You would never be able to replace it with the same clamp by the looks of that and it would leak. Simple as that. If you are not changing the hose, leave it be. Especially if it's not leaking. Under that clamp would be the 'indent' of the original hose clamp that has been there for 20 yrs. Unless you replace with a wider and A LOT more heavier duty clamp, it will never clamp as good as just leaving the surface rusted original clamp in place. It's a yellow paint pen. They are available everywhere. Try your local office and stationary shop, that's who sells them here.
I am pretty picky when it comes to getting things clean, but i know when to draw the line. refinishing the sub frame means having to strip it of all the suspension pieces, brakes, lines, wirings before you can proceed to sanding, prmer, wrinkle paint, and then reverse the process. Unless I was trying to revive a car to concours condition, that effort would be wasted on a driver car. you can get to 90% of concours by power washing and strategically cleaning the sub frame. I am with Pap on the little clamp. Besides, that little hose is a vent hose for the filler port, nothing really serious goes down that thing, if anything at all. When the dog is peacefully sleeping, I learn to leave it alone. As for the yellow paint, i have 3 little things of touch up yellow paints for my Porsche, BMW and Ducati which I use for marking the fastener. Has not used up all yet in 10 years.
More assembly. We will re-clean the engine bay once installation is complete. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The A/C Condenser was rusted out and looked to be leaking. It was sent out for repair and pressure testing. Image Unavailable, Please Login

The ignition and injection system is disconnected so it cannot fire. It's spinning off the starter to build up oil pressure. The loud knocking sound is someone beating a hammer in the background.
