Only about 1344 328GTB produced, so I don't think they are all that common!
Maybe your seeing the same 308 over and over again !!!

 

And yes, many Fiero's have been turned into 308 kit cars.

 

I think the 456GT is one of the prettiest cars in the last 1/4 century. The proportions, the Daytona rear, just beautiful.

I think history will be very kind to the 456GT, esp in 6 speed.

 

The Barchetta. It has to be something really bold and of low production. Making a car without any roof just because it's cool? Bold.

 

It is not because I am biased or own one; but I think the 550 Barchetta will be a classic in 10 to 15 years......a limited numbered (mine is 357/448), V12, front engine, open top roadster, with nice body lines, that is amazingly fun to drive!

I'm thinking the 512 BBi is going to quickly go up in price over the next 10 years or so.
It is kind of a sleeper right now.

But the mid-engine boxer 12 cylinder is a beautiful machine and rare enough to have demand exceed the available supply once it becomes the target for collectors.

The 512 BBi cars remind me of how people felt about the 275 GTB's back when I was young.
The newer 365 GTB/4 Daytona made the 275's seem less exotic.
But once people caught the collector car fever, we've seen the 275 GTB cars go from $100k or so to $800k or more.

Only time will tell.

308 GTS, carburetted.

Not the best of the Fiat era cars, but the last iconic car. Also the last one with no computers. No airbags, no motorized seat belts, no Star Wars dash, no cheap-o sticky plastic interior, no exploding differential, etc. They seem common, but most of the 12,000 308s were injected/QV cars. They did improve along the way, but a classic car is allowed to be temperamental.

Everything that came after the 328 but before the (insert whatever the current model is) is just out of date and a potential maintenance nightmare.

A really original, straight 308 GTS always going to be in style. Very undervalued -- most of them have had re-dyed seats, aftermarket stereos and alarms, aftermarket wheels, etc.

 

I agree, plus they were largely handmade.

 

NEVER leave a gas pump like this. You walk away then back to your car generating static electricity then earth yourself on the handle right next to all that gas vapour

Could always use those big roll bars as a place to ground yourself before touching the gas pump handle.

I knew those big roll bars had a purpose.

I always touch the metal side of a pump or structure nearby before touching the nozzle.
The car sits on rubber. I'm thinking it's not a very good ground.

 

Good point. Side of the pump would be a lot safer than touching the pump handle.

Also, I remember something about cell phones being dangerous to use near the pump handle.

Cell phones are bad news around any kind of flammable fume. You don't need to be close to the handle either.
Rule of thumb, do NOT use one at any time when fueling. I've seen a couple of videos, flash fire!
