Looks like a California mated with an AM one-77. Not a fan. The 458 was a refreshing change. This, is a colossal mixture of solitary design components that worked well independently, but just don't cut it when mixed together. Good thing the only Ferrari I can afford is the 355 in my garage. They just haven't done anything that good since 1995.
I like the front half but the thought of a hatch-like rear end bothers me. This car really should have used the 550/575's dimensions.
I agree. I was hoping for something fresh--and this car incorporates existing looks. I fear the hatchback. I need to see other colors.
That car here is badass!!!!!! Those other renderings look terrible in my humble opinion. I'm confused and don't know what is what. I hope this silver car is the 620, it looks way better than I thought it would. In fact first time I saw it, it jumped out at me.
Awesome reference!!! Batta-bing! Let's not bring out the cleaver though. I absolutely love the looks of this thing. Can't wait to see it in the new Rosso Berlinetta color.
Very Aston Martin looking, I was also thinking it was going to be a clean slate design. Will have to wait to see her in person.
It should take the GT class to a new level... I'm sure Charmin's stock has gone up since Aston's seen this...
From the side, I see a 550/575. When I look at the headlights and grill, I see an Asian Dragon / Catfish. I agree with bdelp that it looks inbred to the other current models, but will reserve my judgement until seeing it in person. Full disclosure: I really liked the 599 & 430 models. Best Regards, David
I don't think it's really fair to judge the car based on one photo. The picture doesn't show you, in reality, its presence and proportions. Also, the appearance of the rear end is also incredibly important. You have to wait until you see the whole package and how it works as one coherent unit. I didn't like the 599 in the photo releases, but, in my opinion, I think it looks great in person. Also, the FF isn't really photogenic, but in person it provides an impressive presence. So...let's wait.
Too much in common with previous designs, otherwise the jury is out until I see what kind of mess they made (or didn't make) of the back end................................... They really need to get away from making evil Pokemon faces on the front of these cars (like the FF).
If this area remains on the actual car, it could be really cool. We haven't seen those kinds of rear fenders since the late 50's or early 60's. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Low-slung, long-nosed, feline-like, aggressive... Those are my first impressions, and all good. I think this will be well-received.
that rear quarter panel area is very much copied off the early 2000's Aston Martin Vanquish imo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
There's a reason we haven't seen those fenders since the 60's. Looks like the gold car - only worse, I think it would have looked so much better with 458-style rear fenders. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Why all the negativity? the car looks every bit as it should, which is fantastic. Remember Ferrari is evolving just as the 430 evolved to the 458. This car will look better in person by 100 times better. The front looks very aggresive and as bdelp stated about the rear fenders are giving the 620 character of old. The hood and the badges are right. So far (which is to soon to tell), the only hicup is that the car appears to have British accents rather than Italian as Hawkeye stated but I bet when seen in person it does not. This car is solidifying the change that Ferrari is taking. It started with the 458. Just wait for the Enzo my friends.
GH- We heard the same things about the original 599 if you look at old threads. Folks got over it. I am still wondering if Ferrari is spoofing us on the name. At the live intro, I understand they referred to it as the F152, from what I heard. Not sure the F620 GT is real. I would vote for 522 GTB famous place or person name myself.
not very impressed with the pics if they are true.. the rear looks very mismatched.. the design does not flow and looks disjointed and too many unnecessary details..
Right, the name F620 just does not project the true nature of this car. Like the F40 and so on. Hope it changes.
The FF is very well executed and avant-garde for what it is; the 458 is beautifully styled, but this just looks like an overwrought (at the front), amateur (at the rear) design. The rear fenders are just a tortured execution to getting the wheel hump - no subtlety whatsoever. Disappointing when you consider that this is Pininfarina at its best - and that's if Pinin did the job; not convinced they did: Image Unavailable, Please Login
That area reminds me of the Alfa 8C. And if any part of a car reminds me of the 8C it's a very good thing.
Not even close. The 458 and 620 have indented rear fenders that appear to be subtle wings. The Aston is just flat. The Barchetta is similar to the Aston.
