It looks too similar to other recent Ferraris I want a nice refreshing change! Hopefully the new Enzo will deliver. Anyone know whens that's due to be revealed?
Going right back through Ferrari history, V12 Berlinettas haven't been well received at launch, back in 1968 this was called a dinosaur. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, it´s an age thing, the same happens to me. Today probably I would say that the F355 is just a revamped 348 wich was only a mix of 308 and Testarossa. BTW, I was not impressed by the Aventador either. It´s just another remake of the Countach. Is it cool? Of course, because the Countach is a cool car, it´s hard to mess things up when you´re copying a masterpiece. I have to admit that Ferrari lately has been trying to stir things up with some eerrr... let´s say "refreshing" ideas. But with the years, I´m able to see more imperfections than before.
I'm wondering if Ferrari will bring forward the release of official pics now this picture has leaked out?
Not true. The US may be the largest single market due to its sheer size, but market penetration there is much lower than in Europe. The EU countries combined make up the largest market for the marque anyway.
it looks bangled. it also looks asian. it also looks like it is made to appeal to a different age group - my teenage son loves it whereas i am luke warm.... we'll see how it ages.
It does look Bangled. It also looks like too many cooks. As China is becoming (in their minds even though luxury sales are starting to tank there) their important market maybe that's the design ascetic they're moving towards. Show the new Lambo SUV to your Son. China is the market hope for that one as well. It will be interesting to see if he like's it as well. The younger generation may very well like that look. I'm with WCH. I think your 456 looks a lot better. As the former head of PF design is now head of design for Chrysler I look forward to the final version of the Viper as I think it will be less Bangled and less too many cooks. When you bring your son to the Ring it will be interesting to see what he thinks about the looks of the Vintage Cars Racing in the support race and the Modern 24 Cars. Best
Italy and Switzerland also. As far as the F152 is concerned, it is going to be absolutely stunning in every regard!
Have a look on all international web sites offering cars and you will see a lot of cars offered from Italy since few months, so the italian market will not really be a secured one for ferrari in the future! new taxes, new problemes, new rules
Italy is going through a rough patch at the moment, but it remains one of the 7 strongest economies in the world. Rest assured that they will recover!
Reading the latest EVO (Subscriber copies out yesterday) Italy is bringing in swingeing taxes on cars over 245bhp? According to the article a 599 would cost the owner 9,000 per year in road taxes. Would imagine there are a few people at Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati lobbying for an exemption on locally produced cars?
I am not saying I hate it, but I don't think the reaction I had could be summarized any better than this.
I wonder how the person that took that grainy phone camera shot of the F152, will be found by Ferrari, considering that it is a terrible photo of what will be a stunning car. Once the car is revealed, I think many on here will have a change of opinion.
Funny you mention this, my 13 yr old just saw the Lamborghini truck and dislikes it....all his friends do not like the FF either, they love Testarossa, the Enzo, but don't like the Daytona. The kids seem to like the new stuff, but for a very short period...they only like it because it's new....and then move on to see what next new is up.....I get the impression......anything past the Testarossa,Countach era is dead in their eyes.....except for the Enzo or Bugatti.
it will age just fine. when the 550 came out, it was criticized for not being mid engined a la Testarossa. it wasn't radical enough, not exotic, etc. Ferrari sold out, was done and made a hideous Corvette. on and on and on. now this forum and its members state that Ferrari cannot make a beauty like the 550 and that its owners will have to keep their prize possessions even longer, unless Ferrari can recreate that magic. look back at the initial insight of the 599. the design was criticized for being a hodge podge Corvette, disappointing, not a real Ferrari, will not age well, will Ferrari scrap this design and be forced to come out with a newer one before the 5 year cycle, when will Ferrari admit this mistake, on and on. see a trend here?
I disagree, Ferrari press photos suck big time... Geneva live ones will give us the best feel. Btw I love the car, i think it looks awesome, and those 740 ponies sound like pure insanity. Are there any information on the weight?
It's not a terrible photo, it's a grainy photo of a terrible car. If the rear fender hump (green) starts at the end of the horizontal crease (red), like it seems to (not certain), then it will indicate that Ferrari have finally caved and gone retro. That, or they're trying to out-Bentley Bentley. To paraphrase Giugiaro (on seeing the TR7): "I hope they haven't done it to the other side as well!". Image Unavailable, Please Login
Do you guys think we have gone past the recent "performance race"? As in, the 599 is already considered blistering fast and almost too fast for the streets - so the even better performance on this F620 doesn't really matter that much to new buyers? I can imagine Challenge Stradale owners going over to Scuderia for more hp, but I can't imagine 599 owners going over to F620 because of the power... I still haven't seen a 550 Maranello owner who complains about lack of power... The 550 is still my favorite of the front engine cars, and a relative bargain today; Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am all for there being retroish TDF-like rear fender/fins if it keeps this car from looking like a big California w/ an FF nose.. I think from the red teaser pic and the silver wood mockup, they've got to be on the final car. The red image shows a crease that you could not get from the bland back of the silver rendering.... Thoughts??
