I have to say, it does look really good with the original Campagnolos on it.

Thanks, last thing to do, this weekend, having the Lambo tech come out and get it's Stance correct, probably the springs in the rear as you all have suggested.

I have to say, after it's wash, I am truly amazed how good a condition the paint is on the car..sure some spyder cracks in the normal places, a few rock chips..but all in all pretty amazing condition for orginal.

The interior, equaly as well, really suprises me..guess it just goes to show the old world crafstman and quality from back in the build it by hand days.. I dont think I am even going to fix the little rip in the front driver seat (you can see it, small right at the seam), just want to leave all like it is..

Looks like a unique interior. Can't go wrong with a lowbody and I think these cars look great in black even though it's a pita. I like the rims that are on it I would just get new tires...old tires suck and are dangerous. People are worried about rim safety? Much more reasonable to worry about old rubber. Truly.

Well, I must say, even though it probably sits a tiny bit higher than some S2, with the original Campys on it appears completely acceptable. I dont know if it is the fact that Bravos seem to be aesthetically pleasing when they are on a car that sits at the lowest setting? Personal choice I suppose, but I would have no problem with this car as it is and would consider same before you spend any more money on it. As Emilio has indicated many a time, his Low Body was a bit restrictive for the use he wanted, and a new owner can always have the suspension adjusted to suit taste. Looks good.

On the interior for the early carb Countachs (again Emilio will know this) Lamborghini would sometimes write down one interior spec and actually install another. It says "Panna" but in fact it may be "Champagne". Years ago I came across an LP400S S2 that went to Japan that had the same Salmon colored interior and the owner told me it was called Champagne. Not that anybody cares about all this :) but its interesting how different they all are and how strange it is that the factory can confirm so little. Perhaps that's what adds to the interest.

Yes, thaqnks to Emilio's research, it is known to be one of only 2 built in this color combo..

I have a brand new set of tires already mounted on another set of wheels, newer version OZ Dish wheels, so real easy to swap for pleasure driving, keep the orginals for show and display.

Yes, so hard to say..I have seen the so called "Champagne" as well. I dont think it is the same..it is a little more yellow/gold in it..

For lack of better term, this is almost a "Flesh" color..like a new born shinny "Pink flesh" little piglet LOL that is the best description I can come up with for a visual..

If its not at the right ride height, lower it! With how original the car is why would anyone leave the wrong springs in it. Roy, your idea to lower is right on! Nice car!!!

this car is fabolous, also pretty low miles but not so low to hate driving it

the thing i would do personally:

    - check all mecanics, do the clutch, replace the plug wires and all the small correct details in the engine bay
    - put new tryes on the campagnolo dish wheels
    - leave the car sits as is, as Joe suggested,... does look good and is usable

then enjoy it, as it is, for years !!! :)

too original and nice enough it would be a pity to restore it! (imo)

p.s. if the car still has the stock box exhaust i would store it and go for the period sport exhaust, it is really a matter of personal taste but i like the good old mild steel roar!

There is a reason for calling it a "lowbody". I have driven mine for 10 years and not once have I entertained raising it. Looks too cool low and if driven correctly its not an issue. Others have their opinions(even though they are wrong) :), this is just what I'd do if it were mine. Enjoy it!

Rear spings look like they were replaced(probably eibach), they should not be red. Something to note: if only the rear is sitting higher than stock that lowers the front spoiler clearance, that is where most drivability problems are with being a lowbody. BTW your owners manual shoul give you the correct spring rate.

    Roy,

We check it against mine also. Mine shows on the build sheet as "Champagne". Not sure if there would be a difference in color between the Quattrovalvole and your Low Body.....

@Emilio, can you bring some more light into this?

I have no clue, that car had VD-Vaudeoise Plates, quite a few LP400 were converted to S-Specs by Lambo Motors.

Thanks..yes it roars quite nicely. I am just not as educated on these early cars as others...learning each day. SO can I assume it is a factory option, or is it an aftermarket add on after leaving the factory..?

sure, it was the factory optional sport exhaust for countach when it was made
you could order your car with it as an option...so the car with this exahust is 100% original - show correct

ANSA made both the stock "box" muffler and the sport version (like on your S2)

they still make them on order in Italy exactly as they were made 30 years ago! come completed with 4 connector pipes that go on stock headers
i can get you as many as you want

293? must be a typo since the numbers can only by even. 1121292 or 94 do fit in the march 81 timeframe.

nice car. I pile unto others to say that if it is close up like on the picts dont restore anything. The body now look all original. would just set the original height and do mechanical updates required for reliability.

by the way talking about black s2, do you know what happened to 1121252 - 9/81 in your town? was black/black. Was not cosmetically as in good shpae as the one you found.
