    Hi guys,

Do any of you know whether the 2012 458 coupe will have a different spec to the previous ones? Maybe an ECU upgrade, etc?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards

It's got a suite of software upgrades. Most notably is its transmission settings. Do a search for software update and you'll be able to find more info.

    Hope that helps

ECU engine and transmission upgrades. The transmission gives more "punch" in Race mode. Power is the same but it's designed to give it more of a raw feeling in race mode.

The other big difference is that you can put the Speedo dial on either TFT dash screen. In previous years, if you ran the nav or radio screen, you had to rely on the digital speedo on the left. On the 12's, you can call up a round traditional speedo on the left screen. This appears to be not upgradable on older models.

Aside from that there is very little difference between all models.

The biggest difference in buying one is that the 12's are about $4500 higher in MSRP but come with the 7 year free scheduled maintenance program.

My 2012 does seem to have a real punch when I shift gears even in sport mode.

Yah.. but there's inflation and the dollar and etc, etc, etc. A $4500 increase in 2 years on a car with an MSRP of $235,000 isn't that bad.

    +1

    1.9%

    Not much.

Gas prices will go up a bigger % than that.

True, but the thing you are forgetting, is that gas prices come down after the summer driving season ends, and winter starts approaching. Fuel prices always rise this time of year.

New Ferrari pricing is not based off any index. Used pricing though is affected as inventories rise, and demand decreases.

I notice the 2012 configurator now says front AND REAR lift.

I saw that too. I'm sure its for people who have to back out of steep driveways or have high curbs. Makes sense actually.
