Oh, good, something to make the FF look good. Ferrari must be happy. The Surf looks like an old aborted Buick showcar.
The lines are so fiddly that they seem to be fighting each other. I think it looks cool not beautiful and I cannot imagine how it will be perceived 10 years from now.
For some reason two representatives from Fisker showed up at my shop yesterday for a tour... They saw my article in Hawaiian Airlines Hana Hou magazine while vacationing here in Hawaii.
Makes me wonder how the FF would look with 4 doors. PS. Also not liking the Surf, looks like a concept car that tries too hard...
This is twice Fisker has copied and failed. First the Maserati Granturismo and now the FF. I do agree that it's beginning to look a bit like what the Chinese do... they "copy" or imitate European styling but sort of give it an uneasy twist that looks somehow odd and misplaced. The FF is a lot better looking than this. Fisker's have too many unnecessary "ditzy" details -- like the mustache front girl and the tacked on diamonds in the rear. What the heck are those?
The diamonds in the rear are small speakers which play an automotive style sound that helps pedestrians (especially blind ones) know that a vehicle is in the area. One of the problems associated with the quietness of electric vehicles is pedestrians are setup to listen for the sound of an engine and they often aren't aware enough of the proximity of an electric vehicle. It appears many governments are going to require something like this for all electric/ hybrid vehicles in the future.
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/02/28/fisker-to-launch-production-karma-surf-wagon-at-paris-salon-in-s/ I assume this is a good sign for Fisker that they are still moving forward with this model. Any update on the loan?
Pretty revolting. I drove the Karma a couple of weeks ago. For a car that size, it has an astonishingly cramped interior. Detailing was ok, not exquisite. Exterior styling was gorgeous, though I am not a fan of the moustache grille either. It's a very big car, and very heavy. Performance is decent. Turning radius is too, surprisingly. The Surf is even more hideous than the FF.
Top Gear review of the Fisker & FF from another thread: http://www.streetfire.net/video/top-gear-season-18-episode-4_2377009.htm
I read the thread, I don't really keep up with cars, and thought a tuning company had stretched the FF and added four doors. I compared the pictures, and thought "man, that looks a lot better with four doors". Then I realized they really looked very very different, had to give props to the tuning company for outdoing themselves. Then I read the thread.... I guess with the above thought process that went on, I can't agree with y'all. It doesn't look like a FF copy, and it looks a lot better than a FF.
