The million dollar question is what does the fender line do ahead of the wheel well? The direction of that line can dramatically affect the look. -F
I think It'll be a hatchback much in the way that an aston martin v8 vantage is (Rapide as well). I'm pretty sure it won't look like the FF, ie a hatchback more in the style of something like a vw golf.
thx, I can live with the fastback look you are describing. i just don't want both choices of the V12 to be a hatchback.
Much more like a fastback with a large sloping rear window set in a single opening panel giving access to the boot or what you would call trunk is how I see it.
The countdown continues. It is amazing how the automotive world and much of the rest of human kind are excited by the prospect of a new 12 cylinder Ferrari GT. Criticisms and praise have already been lodged and no one -- except the chosen few -- yet knows exactly what it will look like. Maybe I have missed it but I have not yet seen a growl from the whacky greens about the release of another 'gas guzzler.' This gives the lie to concerns that the age of automotive excitement and performance is over.
It felt like the 29th was never going to come. It still feels like forever, but it's almost over. I just can't wait for the official photos.
Fortunately it doesn't do the Bentley thing, but unfortunately, it just confirms the shape of the "silver" car. I am struggling to believe that this is Pininfarina!! In its defense, though, this is a still of the teaser video which is an oblique shot of the computer screen, so somewhat distorted. The red outlines are drawn on the wireframes, so not my imagination. Compared to the previous pic I marked up, I "read" this wireframe 3D the correct way, the other one was a bit of an Escher effect seeming to be from the back. Anybody working with 3D models will have experienced this. Proof is that the license tag reads F152 backwards. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The actual back is simply the one posted last week as evidenced by the (backwards) 3D wireframe, diffusor exit vanes and all... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
reminds me of the ass on the dino concept http://2ipadwallpapers.com/ipad-wallpapers/main/2012_01/Ferrari_Dino_Concept_Black.jpg
Would be pretty sweet if they kept the pipes sticking out 6 in. like in that camo shot. Might need a decal with an arrow pointing down, "DO NOT TOUCH! HOT!"
That fender line looks a little different from the silver car. On the silver car the line over the fender is nearly horizontal and then takes a 90 degree turn down. One the wireframe the fender line is more bowed. Pininfarina has made some missteps in the past but I think this car is an improvement over the 599, which was an improvement over the 550 IMO (more drama), even with the pumped up proportions and fat sections of the 599. If this car takes styling cues from the 8C that's not a bad thing. -F
