I do like my 412 to, a more modern car in many aspect but not as exiting as the Espada. I suppose it is the same difference today between modern Ferraris and Lambos
Maybe i am a minority here but I really love those black spinners ! I have my original painted set and a chrome set and im thinking maybe paint one set black for fun. Gary 8394
Gary, thinking about it again I think he's right. His is something else. Also very nice. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not a fan but I like painted silver (even light gold), chrome and I have to wonder if just plain Nickle would be kind of cool as well. Are you coming down to Le Belle Machinne this year? I might have my Espada there. I'd have to talk my wife into driving it up ... LOL! Of course it doesn't hold a candle to yours now but any Espada is worth enjoying no? I'll probably be focused on my race car this year.
i wanted to go last year but i dont want to drive it for 7.5 hours straight . Also i had an overheating problem which is not rectified. So with that i am trying to secure an enclosed trailer from a buddy and trailer it there . I will keep you posted . Which race car are you thinking of Bringing? think there will be a better turnout than last summer? Gary Espada 8394
sorry NOW rectified!!!! gary B suggested i just toss the thermostat and put in a washer with a 17mm hole in the centre to allow flowand a slight restriction to replicate an open thermostat no heat in winter but i dont drive it in winter anyways!! Gary 8394
BTW Espada Gods by chance i realized i have the distinct honor of the first post on the 100th page of this thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Considering all the cash i spent on the LIRA PIT I guess i deserve it . Maybe nows a good time to look back and thank you all here again for helping me in my quest for a nice ride. Gary 8394

thanks so much! Since the shots were taken last summerI have redone all syncros, had all gauges removed calibrated cleaned and painted where ness, had stainless brake lines in engine bay redone, had all calipers redone re sleeved etc etc ,installed correct air filter cover nuts, and leveled springs so it no longer looks like an Italian cruise ship! If you have followed this thread from 2 years ago i can now honestly say I'm done............ but no never not really never kinda LOL Gary Espada 8394
Maybe some folks here know this project car, looking in good condition but needing parts : http://www.fa-automobile.com/detail-vente.php?voiture-a-vendre=Lamborghini-Espada-series-1-2-3&id=7&v=2869
That's considered a fix? I drive mine in cooler weather because ... oh let's face it, they just suck in hot weather. An Italian convection oven with wheels ... So I actually use the heater. What about a thermostat conversion to the later style? That's something I've thought about though it wouldn't look 100% original. There's a Fiat or Alfa version of that external thermostat & housing that's $40-$50. The original doesn't circulate coolant in the block until the thermostat opens. I never understood that.
Sounds like a plan Gary. I don't blame you for wanting to trailer it. Nowhere near the fun as long as the car is fully sorted. What's it like with customs (both sides) when trailering a car? I'm guessing bullet proof documentation is required but even then? That's what would worry me with the race car. In it's street form it's verboten here though a fellow countryman of yours (Alex Stan) had the blue one at the show last year. But he's Canadian whereas they might think I was trying to illegally import a car? I have the factory race version (cup series) of what Alex brought last year. He has or had (it was on Bringatrailer a few months ago) the subsequent street version they offered which was a little bit like the cup series cars but not really. Mine would never work on the street as the tires are the only rubber bits in the suspension. The suspension, brakes and body are very different. I got the final engine bits back from my builder Monday so it should be there. I have no idea on the turnout. If you can you should try and stay for the first day of track as that's always great for seeing some vintage as well as modern stuff. This year it's on Monday and not Sunday so you would have to be there for a while.
What happened to that car? You better have another car already lined up for all the missing stuff. Have you seen how hard and expensive it is to find parts for these cars? Vendors typically gouge now. Here's the current purchase equation (assuming Gary's or one like it isn't up for sale) Espada + Espada + lots a lira + the patience of Job eventually = a nice car. Ask LAESPADA.
$18,800....not bad if can get it for a little less. All in all not that bad of a condition. After speaking with Wil Degroot about that Espada with the corvette (actually it was a camaro) motor that was at Gullwing, he said a motor would not be a problem. He comes across them often.
Gary, That has to be the nicest Espada I've ever seen. I love the exterior and interior colors. Very elegant. Good job!
The car is nice Gary but I'm kind of interested in that store "Pet Valu." Can you get a discount doggie there? Why are their pets cheaper than others?
100 pages, 133 000+ views, almost 2000 posts, Gary's last photos of his beautifull Espada, etc... all this makes me feel to post some pics of mine tonight. Thanks to all you guys who are contributing to this thread... Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
