Had a bottle of this a few nights ago. Very smooth and tasty. http://www.portbrewing.com/our-beers/old-viscosity/

Tried Newcastle Founder's Ale on recommendation by clerk. I was at checkout with my case of regular Newcastle. It's better than the original.
Hi everyone. I'm Belgian, and I had a ball reading this thread I was truly amazed to see this kind of 'beer culture' in the US/Canada, another cliché down the drain for me The way you guys talk and enjoy beer is refreshing, and at moments I even felt something like 'national pride' (chauvinism is not Belgium's biggest asset). I'm a beer lover, not a beer expert, and I don't want to 'intrude' this community, but if I can help anyone, or answer some questions (I live near 'the source' ) please feel free to ask. One last thing: in one of the posts someone said 'Westvleteren' is hard to come by, which is absolutely true. There is one beer though, called 'St. Bernardus Abt 12°' which tastes almost exactly the same. It follows the same recipe, and at a given moment (it's a bit of a story) the Westvleteren beer was brewed in that same brewery (located in Watou) I think you will find this beer to be relatively more available. Cheers! Jef
Visited a few local breweries this weekend and picked up some bottles for the week.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The USA state of Michigan has many fine small (and now larger!) "micro-breweries." It is incredible the selections and varieties. But one small question for you.... just curious. Your opinion on Stella Artois?
Stella Artois is one of the best sold draft 'pils' beers here. Together with 'Jupiler' it holds at least 90% of that market. Stella has a trifle more 'bitterness', it's a correct lager beer you drink when you're thirsty, nothing more. I like Duvel al lot (we always have a crate -24 bottles- in the house), and my absolute favourite is 'Karmeliet Trippel'
St. Bernardus Abt 12° is a fantastic beer, an absolute favorite on mine. I pick one up whenever I can. Westvleteren is just about impossible to come by, at least where I am. A little lighter is Saison DuPont which is a benchmark farmhouse ale. I'm also a huge fan of Rodenbach Grand Cru and most Gueuze styles as well.
anyone try BOONT? the guy at trader joes swears by it..Not bad tasting. Image Unavailable, Please Login
stella is probably the most drinkable beer around. no matter how many times i drink it it always hits the spot.
Any bar with Stella on tap becomes a favorite in my book. Best beer? No, but consistently satisfying.
My wife was in the 'states earlier today and had to pickup this to try out. Not seen in Canada yet. Very light for 6% Edit: no like Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've been drinking a lot of Leffe lately. Good blond, easy to find, not too expensive. What's not to like? Image Unavailable, Please Login
