All I want to know is how many scuderia's were built cause I can't believe the 3000+ figures that people are quoting. Especially with only a production cycle
    Of 1.5 years...

Thanks for the post, Rad. This thread gives me somewhat of an idea of the ownership. Very useful indeed.

Another question, does the Scud suffer any issues that is similar level to coolant hose blew ups, diff going bad, and requiring better toe links just to have a little fun? Sorry my questions may get a bit more towards ex-GT 911 owners but I'm just asking away since this is a buying thread.

Woah, that's a lot of cars if the number is true! Is there a Scud registry similar to this? http://www.gt3rsregistry.com/VINs.htm

+1 to wanting the actual Scud production numbers. I have seen a ridiculous difference in what should be factual info.

It is under 2000. Based on the only facts that I believe are available - in the UK 165 Scuds were registered. UK accounts for 10% of World production (approximately). Using this figure puts the total at approx 1650. I admit it is a guestimate but at least based on some facts rather than hearsay.

Perhaps it will come to be known as the 'Russell Scud Production Equation' - LOL.

Based only on UK registration figures which are government controlled.

    CS - 119 UK cars of total of 1288 - (9.4%)
    Scud - 165 UK cars of total ? 1650 - (10%)
16M - 53 UK cars of total of 499 - (10.6% - UK buys higher percentage of convertibles, due to the superb weather we enjoy :))
The 10% rule generally holds true on total annual production across the complete range.

Of course if anyone has real World figures then ignore me!

Does this car have some kind of special paint I am not seeing:

$15,500 higher asking price than the one that just sold at Cauley? Wonder if it's 09Scud's car? :)

For guys still looking at Scuds, IMO, many of the 2009's are a better deal than the 2008's currently available for sale. Plus, you get the US Carbon Package standard, a bit of warranty left to take care of any faded carbon issues, or headlight condensation issues. Just my thoughts, and most are much closer to F430GT's model with regards to asking price.

    Scuderia:

    - No coolant fitting problems.

    - The car already comes with monoball toe-links.

    - No eccentric bolts for camber adjustment, it uses shims in the 4 LCA (Lower Control Arms) to get camber, I actually now the ratio of shims to degrees.

    - My car has 11,000 miles, with close to 3,000 miles being track miles, the e-diff works as good as day 1. The differential is a mechanical unit, with an hydraulic control to lock from 0%-100% depending on driving dynamics, it is controlled by a dedicated ECU called "E-DIFF ECU" right behind the driver's seat. There are 3 other important unique ECUs, one that controls the left 4 cylinders, one (identical) that control the right 4 cylinders, and one that controls the F1 transmission.

    - Per my cumulative numbers, and knowing from Ferrari North America through 2 different sources that the total number of 2008 Scuderias in North America (US and Canada) is 250 units, my estimate is that there are around 350 2009 Scuderias, with a North American population of around 600 cars. The guys in NJ won't provide me numbers, no matter my multiple phone attempts.

    - Just install good tires, track brake pads, switch to Castrol SRF or any other race fluid, align and corner weight the car, and the car is ready for track days. I would strongly suggest the Capristo headers and the insulation jackets on any Scuderia, as well as the catalytic converter jackets.

A reasonable question there. When is the US Economy going to make sense? To me? Probably never. To the rest of the world? Who knows.

But woes are us - the poor Ferrari owners. We all own really cool cars. Cars that for the most part go down in value. Less to do with the economy than simply Ferrari building cars as a business.

Just curious if 30k miles plain jane sticker new at 170k$ F430 '06 Coupe with gates could be had near $100k

It is a private sale and seller wants more than the F dealer would offer at trade in.
Not sure what new F he has ordered.

    Thanks

Since most of 08 Scuds are out of factory warranty already, is it possible to buy a car from non-Ferrari dealer and then take it to the Ferrari dealer to add Power Normal warranty? Or, does the car has to be Ferrari certified from the authorized dealer to add such warranty?

Assuming it works the same around the World then yes. The cost of the warranty in the Uk includes the dealer checking it out for the warranty, they don't have to be selling the car.

I was told you can't, but this is from dealer and I asked the service department too and they said they have no control, is from the sales side.

Nice looking car. I just don't understand speccing the steering wheel like that (3 materials).

The top is the CF, mid section is leather, and the bottom is the alcantara. A little busy for me. I like the rest of the car though. Black fits the Scud really well.
