What is the vin #? Interior does not look correct, but it could just be the pics. I'd make sure mechanicals are top notch for that price.... (by the looks, I'd be careful). How is the paint? I can't tell from the pics. A lot to consider when looking at getting a good quality Dino. Best of luck.

From an originality and service standpoint I see quite a few issues from the photos you have posted. That said it is impossible to value the car without more information and a proper inspection.

Anyone who comments on the price of the car at this stage with the information given does not have nearly enough information to be accurate. Get a qualified inspection and from that I am sure that the price can be well evaluated.

If there is 2 inches of body filler on the whole car and the engine is worn out then it is not worth it.

If the car is all original or well cared for and in need of some TLC and freshening then the price is worthy of consideration.

At present it is not in the high or low end of the pricing ladder. In my opinion by European pricing standards it is probably somewhere in the lower middle range assuming a fairly clean example.

Arrange a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) for the car with a qualified Ferrari mechanic. That is money well spent.

Not enough information, no, but what info is provided seems to show a semi-derelict car that no one has cared about for MANY years.

Again, lots of unknowns with both, but from what the photos show if $169 buys the red car I think $160K is utterly out of the question.

My thoughts too, but wanted to keep my mouth shut and not jump in with negative comments... price seems out of range from what I see in the limited number of pics. Just my two cents worth......

Surely for that money you might as well look in the Uk and be able to do proper research

eg in PH classified there's a US spec GTS in Kent or a red car at Speedmaster for same money - all the others are unpriced presumably so the price can be however much they can get

Great observation! There are a lot of things about his car that has me think it is an 'm' series car over anything else. If this is the case then the nose is wrong.

Here in the uk dinos passed the 120,000euro/100,000 pound price quite some time ago and now most seem to be well over 120 pounds, the yellow car mentioned is a gts but I am only looking for a gt.I have seen better/more original dinos offered but at the equivalent $195,000.Even a good contender from the US will work out too expensive once all the taxes and duties have been paid as well as having the undesirable smog equipment.Unfortunately for me this need to own a dino was instilled from a very young age and I know I will never be satisfied untill I get one,its so far been a 42 year wait as they have always been out of my financial reach and I feel I need to get one whilst I`m young enouth to enjoy it. Lastly can someone explain the doubts with the front end as I am not that familiar with the exact model details/changes.

We need a VIN number to help out. All I can see from pics it that it is a Euro car and looks early production. Don't yell at me but my advice is do some research on this one and be careful. You are going to dump some change and should get your money worth. I'd match VIN, engine, gearbox, body numbers to verify. Germandino can help. He is an expert.
ps: Buy his book!!!!! Dinocompendium. Unbelivable work of art/research.

Really. Be grateful there are people here to help you. Personally, the engine compartment looks total crap, but it's your call.

Do your self a favor- buy Matthias Bartz book on the Dino's. You will get a tremendous education for not a lot of money. You will then know a lot more about the cars & then be able to recognize a good one. Do not worry about rising prices. Europe has 3 countries failing in the very near future and zero growth. The US has real double digit unemployment and a housing glut that will last for a long time. Remember these fun wonderful little cars are a hobby and can/will get hit as the bleak economic winds blow. Do not be in a hurry! You will find the right one when the time is right! Importantly - you will make an educated purchase! Good luck!!

You are so right Champ, cheap cars will bite the dust as the countries will, and great ones will only go up :)

    Buy the book, and learn...

Thank you all for the helpfull comments which I will take into consideration.I`m not sure what is meant by not worrying about rising prices, are they predicted to fall?.It is the bad state of the economy that is responsible for this last rise in prices.Buying at the right time seems to have a much more significant effect on price,I was within a wisker of buying a 246gt before they shot up ,that paticular car is now worth at least double.I am confident in myself of not buying a bad car,but would still get a proffesional inspection.I know that if I buy the Matthias Bartz book I will want one even more and I will more likely rush into it,the book will have to come after the car.
