First Fiat 500 Abarth in USA goes for $30k

A buyer paid a decent premium for a $22k Fiat 500 Abarth just to be the first one in the USA to have it:

But that's almost nothing compared to the $88k paid over the sticker price for the first 1 of 50 Audi R8 V10 GT Spyders.

 

At least it went towards a good cause.

 

Wish I had money like that to spare!

 

It is a beautiful little car.

I am looking forward to test driving it and eventually owning one. Finally, some Italian class in a sea of boring vehicles on the North American roads!

Great review of the Abarth. Set up just the way I would get it. I'm hearing if you don't have your order in already, could be a year wait for one; there is 200% more demand than FIAT thought.

Still wont make up for the under 50% of sales demand they estimated on the regular ones. Maybe they should just build Abarth versions then.

 

I was at the auction. Allot of money was raised (as it is every year) For the Boys and Girls club.
The winner will get his car about 3 days before me!

 

Not really sure if it works out to $8K over MSRP. I was at the dealership last weekend, and a fully optioned Abarth is just over $27K. So it really depends on how this particular one was spec'd.
