What does this setup costs? Sure beats a simple GoPro camera!

Its a gimmick. I have it on my GTO - if you're a track day fan there are much better kits available that also incorporate circuit maps, video etc.

I'm not sure it's the same as the GTO version? This has twin HD cameras, mounting system, microphone, GPS, links into the CAN bus, circuit mapping, road mapping and an editable interface for video creation.

I thought you were talking about a Ferrari factory fitted option - yours doesn't sound like the one I have. Much better in fact!

I think the factory was stuck with them at £6k+ so dealers are now offering them for £832.50 + VAT.

Yes I'd want it for the twin camera feature. Nice to have one aimed out the front of the car and the other at the driver/cockpit. I'm not a track person, but would be a great toy to record some memorable drives. Sure would beat a single GoPro camera if the price is right.

For $1200US, that might be a good deal. Which dealers are selling them?

I'd hold off at the moment, seems to be an issue on how to save the files, if at all! Talking to the dealer at the moment.

Any updates on this system? Did you end up picking a set up?

Yet to be installed so a few weeks away from posting some footage but I have played with the interface images a bit to personalise them (standard Ferrari images were a little naff). System plugs into the CAN bus to take data and uses gps to plot track or road routes. Has 2 cameras and may add a go pro hero 2 feed or similar as well (interface allows) as the Ferrari cameras are not super high res.
Area at top where 16M logo is sitting is the video play area, size can be adjusted, speedo and revs are taken from the CAN bus and the gps does the g meter. To the right at the bottom the gps track or road course gets mapped. The lap timer allows you to compare laps, set lap start points etc. Videos can be saved in lots of formats and uploaded to youtube and others. Bit of fun!

Yes got it all installed. Had it in place for the Guinness World Record 964 Ferrari's at Silverstone F1 Circuit.
I'm using a software program called 'Camtasia 2' to capture the video on mac but I'm sure there are lots of other products. Currently I've mounted the cameras on the clear perspex screen between the seats on my 16M, roof down this gives a great rear view. The GPS worked perfectly to build the track but I do need to experiment with the microphone position as I had a bit of electrical interference. 31 minute lap time for Silverstone might just be a World Record as well! ;)

The other option for this if you already have several hd cams as I do is again for iphone is to use the app Harrys laptimer app and PC software dashware, harrys laptimer does all the GPS logging and dashware integrates it with the gopro footage, total cost about $60.

Looks great although pic quality from the vid cams isnt as high quality but that could just be the screen shot you took?

I will need to extend my wires etc as i want to be able to remove it from car to car.

Pic quality isn't that good, the system seems to create a grid for 4 cameras, using 2 (which is what the system come with) still means it reverts to the 4 camera grid for resolution. Reading the manual it looks like using only 1 camera would give much higher resolution as the 4 camera grid is used for the single feed - I haven't tried.
