Ben thanks for that info and for keeping on top of the situation . My intention is for a GA ticket so I can roam about but I do have a question? Is there any info pertaining to coolers or backpacks simply because I would like to tote one of those small 'lunch' coolers aswell as wear a backpack. Also we need to get started on that t-shirt idea I had, Rob can you hear me??
I'd assume they'd just check it at the gate to make sure its empty, and let you fill it up with overpriced beers onsite tee shirts have a short lead time. The GA tickets are going to go on sale this summer, so I think there is still plenty of time to work something up
I'll stay sober for the race but afterwards hide your girlfriends LOL!!! I agree the lead time for the T's is short so I would think atleast a 3-4 month lead time would be appropriate?
FIFY. Sorry Greg,... too easy. Just messin with ya. Did you hear about the 2 Aggies who were driving to Corpus Christie and came upon a goat with its head stuck in a barbed wire fence? Buck pulled his F250 over and promptly had his way with the goat. He went back to the truck and asked Jake if he wanted a turn. Jake responded,... "I sure do,... but I'm not sure I can get my head stuck in the fence that way." Interesting to get some pricing. How may fixed seats are they building? Does anyone believe they will sell 100% of fixed seats as PSL's for an unproven event / project? $150 for onsite parking. I can only imagine what a beer / kobe beef burger will go for...
So the cheapest PSL commitment is... 1500 + 500 * 15 years (ignoring rate increases) = $9,000 / seat.
I'm out. Rather do cheaper foreign races. I'll wait it out but I think this year for me isn't going to happen. I just see all kinds of teething problems. If I go to one GP a year, I want to make sure I enjoy myself for the weekend. I'm not convinced -- or even hopeful-- so far. Sorry.
Man what a 'soap opera' the race is becoming with all the behind the scenes turmoil, pathetic or just teething issues or alittle of both? LMAO!!! I do have a true livestock story my dad told me about a friend of his from way back in the day, wanna hear it? It'll take the edge off!
My favorite quote from the suit article: --Hellmund says in the suit that the project has been hindered by misinformation and poor financial support.-- How little we hear of these things in NJ. F1 fans in the US deserve better than this in-fighting over an event certainly guaranteed to lose or make very little money. The pricing for seats is quite interesting. Easier to get a ticket for just about any other race in the world. The more I read the less Austin seems attractive in terms of travel effort.
I feel your pain brother and I'm only 2.5hrs away. We the fans who will be paying are still be left in the dark and imho still being treated like the kid who is sent too their room so "mom and dad can fight in private".
I am amazed at the effort to make F1 happen in Austin. Its great. A true F1 circuit is being built. The rest of this is simply un-believable. It really is to me. I have to ask why. Why is this so hard now that they have begun this journey. I guess most of us rate grass seats. Its borderline pompous.
I was up and having beverages with a friend from about 12pm until I came home, ate dinner and went to bed about 8pm. I place alot of the blame on my PITA pup, Mr.Painter, for wanting to play at 3am every morning aswell . I only used the following pic because thats the way he looks at me lol! ps, When I was in Amsterdam I was constantly standing on a bridge overlooking the canal with beer and &%^^& in hand at 3-4am, vampires only come out at night or would that be knight! Austin is great in November. In the suit, he also alleges that they withheld funds from him to deliberately put the project in jeopardy. Allowing for them to renegotiate with Bernie directly. Once Tavo defaulted with Bernie, forcing renegoations, he was no longer needed.
Optimism bias From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Optimism bias is the demonstrated systematic tendency for people to be overly optimistic about the outcome of planned actions. This includes over-estimating the likelihood of positive events and under-estimating the likelihood of negative events. Along with the illusion of control and illusory superiority, it is one of the positive illusions to which people are generally susceptible. Excessive optimism can result in cost overruns, benefit shortfalls, and delays when plans are implemented or expensive projects are built.
What do the intelligencia think of this sentence from the link? So this is a $300-$400M project and a 20% stake is worth $8M? Or are they saying he put up the first $8M and he was given 20% ownership?... If Tavo owns 20% for no cash input,... and Red owns 20% for a paltry $8M... presumably Epstein has a nice deal as well,... so at least 60% is claimed with little moneys in... where is the opportunity return for these new investors who have been reported lately? confusing.
