Driving shoes........

Thankfully, I have a small problem.
I am looking for a COMFORTABLE pair of Ferrari driving shoes that are not to wide and will fit when driving my gated 550. Don't want plastic or synthic material but like leather. I have been lookiing on ebay and other sites for a while but just have not found what I think I want.
Any suggestions? Barefoot is not an option.

Found a pair of Clarks driving shoes while shopping with my daughter last week. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They are also quite narrow and fit well in to the foot well of even my E-Type. This is a good trick as that is one of the narrowest (although not as bad as a 308/328) foot wells around. They are great.

Puma makes great driving shoes...they make Ferrari specific ones too

 

My current favorites are a pair of Rockport Capitals; leather upper, not made in china, and they look/feel way more expensive than they actually are.

Lightweight and super comfortable too.

I use these. They are very comfortable with very soft moose hide leather and a rocker heel. They work for the 328 with size 13 shoes so should work in a larger car

Don't know your budget but Geox makes some nice drivers that are every bit as nice as those 3X the $$$

You might check the Florsheim Imperial line.

I found that the calfskin Comos leave me good pedal feel, and are "dressy" enough for work.
Comos aren't lace-ups, but Florsheim does have a lot of lace-ups in the Imperial line.

The only issues I've had with the Florsheims is that they tend to fall apart if they get soaked, and I've had to re-glue the rubber heel pad on the last couple of pair.

Be sure to scuff up the leather soles when you get them. Out of the box, it's like ice skating.


(The issue I'm having now is that the RA is making my feet and ankles swell up, and I don't know if I could drive the 328 in extra-wide shoes.)

 

The shoe is called the "Mansell" from Clarks and are stock number 87706. They are a slip on and I found them on sale no less at the Designer Shoe Warehouse or DSW as it is known. Trust me, your wife or girl friend will know the place!!!

Puma F1 shoes are the best. It's very comfortable, easy to handle the throttle and clutch and the brakes.

 

Why not get a pair from from the man who made driving shoes for Lauda, Ickx, Reutemann, Vaccarella amongst others while they are still available? A friend of mine ordered two pairs, and the quality was outstanding.

Speaking of shoes, is Piloti still in business?


I've worn their shoes for years. While trying to buy a couple of new pairs last week, I had tons of trouble finding the style (Tamburello) I wanted in my size (10). I finally found one pair and the retailer told me that was the last pair in stock and they haven't been able to get any more. He said that they keep getting put off by Piloti. Their website has been up and down and when it's up they show very limited availability.

Anyone had similar experience?

 

Wow, I hope Piloti's not in trouble. I love my Tamburellos, and am tempted to wear them all the time - not just when I'm driving. Perhaps I should preemptively search for a replacement pair before the supply dries up?

 

As soon as the video started with a brief moment of guitar from Paco de Lucía it got my attention, very nice video.

 

My brother and I bought our last two pairs from them ever. Mine broke the second day and his lasted a few months before the suede cracked. We asked the vendor and he said that Piloti had some place in China making the shoes! If that truly is the case then my guess is that they are heading for trouble.

 

Not been my experience with Piloti.
