    Considering the purchase of 08 cayenne s or 08 BMW x5 4.8i with sports package. Any thoughts on each appreciated.

    i have owned an x5.
    i currently own an '08 turbo cayenne.
    the cayenne is far more fun to drive and much more reliable than the bimmer.
    one slight issue: the '08 cayenne did not yet offer blue tooth connectivity.
    you can retrofit the radio, however, with a nav-tv tooki kit.

    You may want to consider a used X5M they're priced in the low 70's so its close in price to a cayenne s and it's vastly superior. I had a 2005 and 2008 cayenne tt and and made the switch. I find that the X5M out accelerates out corners and out brakes the Cayenne and I spent 6 years using 2 Cayenne TT's as my DD and the past 1.5 years with the X5M.
