I don't know what kind of dope the two of you are doing but Ferrari is probably the only company in Italy growing and making profits. The F1 team may suck but the cars are still in high demand. And the FF will outsell the old 612 easily while the new F12 gets rave reviews. So let's just stick to the facts, can we?
Last year in testing McLaren sucked big time. They redesigned the exhaust and were immediately a credible force for the first race. It's Ferrari's turn.
Wouldn't have anything to do with being a new model would it? I would hope it outsells the old 612. However over the lifetime of the car, I wouldn't be surprised if we have FFs rotting in the showrooms once the newness wears off. The FF looks like utter ****. Period.
Can we get back on subject instead of insulting the tastes owners who frequent here? You can post your hate over at maclife. You'll be a hero. Over here insulting owners us a good way to act like a zero.
Right, because this is the first thread to ever go off topic in the F1 forum during the off season. I can post whatever opinion I want, thanks. Trying to impose some kind of gag order on what I type because I don't like the aesthetics of one of Ferrari's models (I have already complimented its engineering) is a good way to make yourself look like the zero. For what it's worth I think the 458 and F12 look great but the FF is an abomination. Don't agree? Ok, move along.
+1 What does the FF have to do with the F1 Section? Why not keep it over there if you don't like it and lets get back on track regarding issues with the F1 car.
At least I can pull for Kimi, or MS, even Button. Just no wunderkind and no Lewis. On a rare day I might even see Ferrari win a race. pretty soon I will be pulling for Force India.
What all is left to be said? There is no fresh news, the latest interview with Fry is downplaying their chances. Personally, the more I think about it, I think the car will be better than everyone seems to think.
I personally agree with you that the 2012 will be better than what has been said. Fry is notoriously pessimistic to begin with.
The problem appears to be that the tires go off very suddenly...on a one lap qualifier car can hold its own but over race distance there wil be problems..let's see...
I'll answer since I started it: the question is whether Ferrari as a company is losing it, just as it did in the early nineties Hopefully not and this is just temporary. This is btw not even my own idea: two people have brought this up recently independently, Ferrari fans even As for this being irrelevant to the F1 section: this is Ferrari we are talking about, the company where road and race cars are linked like nowhere else, be that financially, engineering or marketingwise
Yeah and his body language in his most recent video didn't seem to indicate to me that he was extremely disappointed. Who knows, maybe they'll pull a McLaren and get it figured out prior to AUS.
Andreas, looks aside which are subjective, the FF is a terrific car. In addition, IMHO, Ferrari is at the top of their game with the 458, 458 Spider, the F12, and even the FF (for its intended it purpose).
Forget it. In the late eighties the F1 team was worse than now and they sold everything they produced. Right now they´re selling more cars than ever. And their main markets don´t give a s*** about F1. It´s just the usual "the end is near" mentality of the Ferraristi. Quite common, I think.
Yes, you might be spot on with that! But I had a feeling that McLaren tested a far more sophisticated version with their octopus and simply took a step back and used only the 'standard' EBD, whereas from what I see that is not the case with Ferrari. To me it appears their exhaus position was initially targeted to blow the brake duct fins and now they have to live with the sidepot design for that but blowing somewhere else. That can be huge compromise. If they nevertheless manage to impress during the season... hats off.
I was reading an old Cavallino the other day. It contained an article about the very promissing wintertests of the radical F92A. Very promissing? Hm... I remember Jean Alesi being overtaken by the Tyrrell of Olivier Grouillard on the straight during the Mexican GP...
If they wanted to make an FF type vehicle, they should have (and I really hate saying this) badged it a Maserati. Keep the Ferrari's special and exotic. Maser has sort of become Fiat's answer to what lies between Alfa and Ferrari and I'm sure freaks and experiments would be welcome on that showroom floor, although it kills me to say it as I have a real soft spot and love for old Maserati.....they way they were in the 70s and prior.
+1 As for the F1 team: It just has been now a few years since our last title and it doesn't look like one is around the next corner. So this is more than just a seasonal low.
