Just wondering whether anyone has ever tried this or if anyone knows of any pictures of cars that have had this done?

    Thanks

I retrimmed my old Euro 308 with brown leather it worked out fine. I would be cautious of covering the dash with a light color like tan due to reflective glare on the windshield while driving on a sunny day. I think that's the primary reason most cars have dark colored dashes.

What about the A-pillars and sun visor area, has anyone trimmed these in anything other than black?

Wow, now that I see it entirely in tan it may look great two-tone black. Black would be the main upper dash following the two profiles angling down and across the doors.

I've seen a couple 308's done with a tan dash. I must say I did not like it at all. Regardless of the base interior color, the black trim (door pulls, dash, etc.) really are critical to define the look of the car's interior, IMHO.

When it comes to style and design, I don't mess with the Italians --- that is one thing they always get right. Other Europeans, not always.... but, style has always been the unique talent of the Italians ---- fashion and cars, in particular :)

Plus, if the car already has a tan interior, you'll never get a perfect color match unless you redo everything. Black is far easier to replace and match to other black in the car.

I'm sorry, and no offense to anyone's individual tastes (it's your car, do as you like), but the 308/328 needs the black dash and door pulls to look "correct" :) I also think it would greatly affect re-sale with a non-black dash --- maybe not so much with price, but at the very least, it may be difficult to find that select buyer who also likes it.

I love it! Although I completely replaced my interior, I kept the black dash and arm rests. On NEWER cars, I love the all tan or cuoio interior, matching dash top and carpets.

I have to agree with the comment that the black dash with the black arm rests sweeping down into the door panels as a continuation of the dash is an important part of the 308 look.

    Not a fan.

It's too much of the same colour and seems to wash the dash into the background IMHO.

The black dash gives a bit of contrast to the interior and creates a better visual impact. It seems more defined in black.

I think it looks nasty, but I don't like modern cars with light colored dashboards either.

Dark brown, with the standard tan interior looks OK. There was a 328 GTB on here a while back with that combo and it looked good (Like the testarossa). I still prefer black, but it wasn't bad.
