Volcano stopped me from hopping over to Dublin last year from Edinburgh... On my list to get back to.
Am visiting gods country at the weekened and venturing into Cardiff on Sunday and down to visit the step son at Newport Uni. Is there a decent duty free shop at the border
Don't worry about the direction. I did it in a similar way in 2010, the coast views can be easily viewable from the "wrong side" and there are places to pull in if you want to stretch the legs for a bit whilst taking it in.
and there's simple me thinking there was a volcano in Dublin ...... there are lepracorns and pots of gold at rainbow ends right ??
That was stressful in 2010. My parents nearly missed my wedding because of it! They made it over with literally a handful of hours to spare. They were extremely jetlagged but very pleased to have actually made it. Unfortunately, the customer-gouging airlines made their one-way airfare to get here almost double the entire budget of the whole wedding. All the best, Andrew.
lol Oh, the occasional insomnia. Finishing part-time work shifts quite late often leaves me a bit buzzy into the night. All the best, Andrew.
Well, I am here in Salisbury now. I have always wanted to see Stonehenge and now, tomorrow, I shall! I am beginning to talk like I'm English..! I wish I had a normal computer so I can upload the photos I have took. It's very frustrating. On a side note- I have not watched an ounce of television and I 100% do not miss it! I've been to Ireland before- both North and South. But I have not fully explored it yet but I will some day. Right now I would like to see where this adventure takes me, and this means all of you get to help figure that out. I have always said that I regard FChatters as members of my extended family (I guess you could say an in-law has shown up! Ha! ), and one of the things I really want to do while I am over here is spend my time with my fellow FChatters. I have never got to meet any of you over here like I have in the USA, and I have always been disappointed with that. I plan on being in London toward the end of the month, but until then I am heading toward Scotland- taking any side trip in any direction. If there are any car things going on- please let me know! If you have a cheap place to stay in town, please let me know. If you have a spare sofa that you don't mind giving up, even better. I am happy to pay you £10 a night, and would be happy to do an odd job to earn my keep! This is not an adventure where I am living lavishly. We have the rest of our lives to spend drinking the most flavorful wines and sleep in the most lavish of hotels, but when are we going to make it a point to sit down and appreciate the really simple things in life? I'm more than happy to work for free in exchange for a bed, meal, or even a story. You can offer payment to me, but I'd like the money to be donated to The Possibility Project http://www.the-possibility-project.org. It is a charity that I support, and has made quite an impression on me. Also, I am game for an adventure. If you need someone to do something out of the ordinary with I hope you get in touch. Paintball...jumping out of a perfectly good aero plane...I may even get a tattoo- and I don't like tattoos! Who knows what can happen? Either way, you can have a boring normal day, or you can have a day where PaulK came from out of town to visit. Good, bad, or indifferent, it won't be a normal day- it will be one to remember. Life is short.
Stonehenge was awesome! I wish my iPhone camera pictures were better, but I think my shots on my camera are better. I just can't get to them... I have yet to find a single Ferrari. Car wise, this trip has been very disappointing in that regard. I thought the UK had all these petrol heads!?!? Greetings from Liverpool. Great city. Hostile is ****. I'm heading to Liverpool tonight for the Liverpool vs Everton game. Big rivals, the clubs are about a 10 min walk apart and if Everton win we go above the evil bast@rds !!! Kick off is 8, so find a bar in the centre of town (preferably with Everton fans as they don't have their heads stuck firmly up their backsides) and get ready for a feisty evening with a great atmosphere. PS - Everton play in blue and our goalkeeper is American!
360stimo- argh! I wish I knew you were going to be there- my internet ran out! It's good to see Liverpool win when you are in Liverpool!
Hello everyone I am now in the Lake District. I was in the Peak District yesterday, and this seems everything like the Peak District with about 20% tacked on and water! I love it!
Pretty annoying as our manager basically surrendered the game before it had kicked off in favor of tmrw's FA Cup quarter final. He made 6 changes from the team that had beaten Chelsea, Man City and Spurs without conceding a goal. With it being a derby game that hasn't gone down well in the blue half of Merseyside. He'd better win the game tmrw. Where did you watch it? I was down in the docks after the game drowning my sorrows.
When i saw the team sheet i had a bet on 3-1 to them. As per my other post, if we'd have picked our best team then the game was 50-50. Wish i'd known before i went all the way up there.
Actually my hostel was right across from the docs. I was watching it at a restaurant/bar at the "Line Inn" hotel near the Lime St Station. I'm staying in Coniston, it's the only hostel that had vacancies. I think it's pretty nice. Rains a whole lot though. After this it's time for Scotland!
