IMO the 'Enzo" will, no matter how much more the new model performs, always be a special Ferrari model ....my prediction is the new model will be not quite as elegant in it's complete design IMO of course
They never said that about the F12. Those comments, the ones you're referring to, were actually oddly enough made regarding the Enzo replacement when discussing the Mille Chili concept.
When Ferrari produces a new car it is a very special event like a new child in the Ferrari Family. Our newest child is going to be called the LUCA!
A future owner drooped the latest states on the 918 @ rennteam 570hp petrol engine (4.6L V8) 770hp with the electric motors 1650kg curb weight 4 wheel steering.... I am gonna go on a long shot and guess the 1300kg 920hp enzo replacement will smoke it...
Acceleration- torque and traction. One of the best 2wd chassis at getting the power down is the Ultima GTR. Its so good that Mclaren used one to develop and road/track test the F1s drive train. If the new Enzo accelerates as fast as a street Ultima GTR720, with a 5sp Porsche G50 stick shift, itll be doing well. About US$100k turnkey including all UK taxes: http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/Content.aspx?f=records Im looking forward to the seeing the 'new Enzo'!
1490kg? http://www.porsche.com/usa/aboutporsche/pressreleases/pag/?id=2010-03-02&pool=international-de
http://www.rennteam.com/forum/page1.html?vs=15#PostDetailsTitlePortlet Actually a really reliable source, as in a dude that ore-orded the car, and was at some prototype demonstrations, and talked to the engineers says its going to be 1650kg. Rennteam is porsche equivalent of the ferrarichat, many of the users are long time porsche owners, with many connections with inside information. 99% of all the rumors that turn out to be true come from that forum. So I consider the 1650kg to be a very reliable information.
They made Carrera GT with ultra lightweight materials and it weighs around 1400 kilograms. Add some new tech hybrid gear with batteries and the 1650 kilogram weight is IMO believable. They're going to base the new one on the Carrera GTs CF monocoque right? Sigh, going to miss simple yet amazing cars like the F50, Carrera GT and Zonda F...
I agree, especially concerning these two cars. Both had racing derived engines - the F1-derived V12 for the F50, and the V10 from Porsche's aborted LMP1 project for the Carrera GT - which made them very special. If the 918's V8 engine is sourced from the RS Spyder (as I am led to believe), then it can join this very awesome group.
someone knows if the new Enzo shoud produced in very short quantities 349 units due to the economic conditions?
They certainly won't say 'Number 23 of 349" or whatever the 'total' may be, it'll be "1 of 349" cough cough. Porsche are looking to build 918 918's... if they have demand. Personally, at that weight I would not bother, if I could afford to play that game. Hybrid is interim technology; at that weight I'd pass. If it was near the tonne, I'd snap it up, again, given the wherewithal. Totally electric is not viable either today- how do you ruin a Lotus Elise in one go? Stick a 500kg battery in it, and call it a Tesla...
Sure, but don't you think they would be abit more special as 011/349? Of course, they are already very special ;o) Saying that, it's kinda fun trying to find out how many Enzo's etc there are.. what is the last count?

LOL
