    No-brainer. They should do it.

It'll require minimal investment and I can see many wealthy people wanting it as a status symbol. I can see the younger wealthy clamoring for it to drive to da clubz.

    Nice profit center for them.

Since when did Lamborghini use a common "family"styling on its cars? Why do they need to have all of their current models have a similar look to them? This was never the case historically, they NEVER had a common theme to them until about 2 or 3 years ago when they redid the Gallardo to have the same look at the V12 car. I don't much care one whay or the other if they make an SUV, but why dilute the look of your cars by making them all have the same look???? For Pete's sake, you don't see Ferrari do this. Stop it already!

    End of Rant.

Family styling elements is not new to Lambo.

It began with the LM002 and Jalpa incorporating a lot of Countach styling elements.

The Diablo existed in a vacuum as it was Lambo's only car for a time.

The Murci was the clean sheet design and the original Gallardo most certainly incorporated Murci styling elements.

As far as Ferrari...have you looked at a 2012 Ferrari ? The FF and F12 look like brothers and both inherited their headlights from the 458.

Really? Ferrari doesn't do this? I think you're allowing yourself to forget a few cars. Lets have a look at the last 23 years of Ferraris and I've got three words for you; Smiling Fish Mouth...

    The 348 started it...

...the 512TR had the exact same nose...

...they smoothed things out for the 456...

    ...and the 550...

...and a little more for the F50...

...they liked the F50 nose so much they put it on the 355...

    ...and the 512M...

...the 599 added the crosshatch grill in higher contrast...

    ...shared by the 612...

    ...and the California...

    ...and the FF...

    ...and the F12...

...in fact, if you look, the 458 has the same shape for it's grill, just missing the crosshatch...

So there you go. Out of 16 models in the last 23 years, the fish mouth has been on all but 3 models, the 360, the 430 and the Enzo.

I rather think Ferrari is just as guilty as Lamborghini of creating a family resemblance across their range of products.

Sorry, but I do not agree with you. There are no common sheet metal elements on prior Lambo's, much less the LM002 and anything else. Period.

Even Ferruccio himself decided to create a " practical" car such as the Jarama
long before the SUV were invented

Here are Ferrucio Lamborghini ‘s own words, in an interview accorded to “Thoroughbred & Classic Car” magazine – UK in January 1991 :

“I preferred the Jarama to all the others, because it is the perfect compromise between the Miura and the Espada. The Miura is a sport car for the young at heart who wants to go like hell and love to be seen. Myself, I considered the Miura too extrovert after a while. In turn, the Espada was my Rolls Royce : still quite fast, but also large and comfortable. The Jarama is the perfect car if you just want to have one car.”

i already made the convincing argument earlier in the thread... was just providing credentials

i would think if one is debating a legal issue they would be interested to know if their opponent is a lawyer or not

beside. the smiley face indicates a lighthearted tone
