SCUD pricing guide

Ummm, all scuds come like that standard (CF top, leather middle, alcantara bottom). Anything else would be a custom option.

Then it seems a lot of Scuds have the custom option. (many of the ones Ive seen)

Sorry, didn't mean it in a derogatory way. I guess since I have an F430 with a scud steering wheel and am in the market for a scud, that's all I've been looking at.

There are the rare custom steering wheels where the middle or lower portion is a different color such as red, blue, or gray, but based on the pictures, it looks like it still maintains the appropriate (CF, leather, alcantara) sections. The only one that deviated from this was a Scud I saw that did not have LED's on the steering wheel and that had alcantara on the top.

 

No worries. I didn't really take it as derogatory, I'm here to learn. I have the regular wheel on my 430 and just didn't notice the 3 segment ones on the Scuds. Maybe because the bottom is usually black and it slips my eye.

I have to say I was one who was told and repeated here that you could add a power warranty to any ferrari under 10 years of age (of course the "age appropriate warranty") so long as you had the inspection preformed by a dealer service department...

However, I just tried to buy one for my CS and the dealer confirmed for me that Ferrari will not sell a Power warranty unless you bought the car from a dealer. Seems a silly/petty rule to me, but its clear to me they are trying to "control" the market by offering a proprietary benefit to cars bought from dealers and not those bought from private parties or indy dealers. Sucks. Sorry if I mislead anyone with my prior posts saying you could add it to any car that passes the inspection (in my defense I was repeating what my dealer had told me...until I actually said "ok, I'll take it" and then they double checked and found out its not possible).

Wow, must of changed in last 12 months or depend on country, I did just this with a previous F car. In the UK F car dealers give 2 years warranty in the purchase price.

 

Yea, I was told I could get an age appropriate warranty for my F430 from F of OC as long as I had the car inspected by them. I know of another member on here that purchased a scud from CNC and got power normal from the dealer afterwards. Must be a region thing unless they changed it in the last 6 months.

 

Unless they changed that rule in the last year, somebody is just full of "sour" grapes!! FOW will certify the car, as stated, you need to have the inspection, roughly $1300-1500k on the car, plus warranty expense. For me, not worth the money anyway.

 

It could just be a dealer thing too....

I have to say this discrepency about whether or not one can add a power warranty to a car bought from a source other than an official ferrari dealer is frustrating!

I pushed the issue two weeks ago when they said "no luck" but will try again next week...

Yet another quirk to ferrari's business model...but then I would like to see them at least make thier window stickers add down all the time first!

 

In the UK this is the story:

...The car must undergo an inspection by Ferrari Dealer to certify its conformity (The car must carry a full service history and had all extraordinary service requirements carried out by Ferrari's Official Network; conformity of car to type approval requirements as specified by manufacturer. The coverage applies only to cars with a maximum entry mileage of 56,000 miles 90,000 km). All you need to do to sign up for the warranty is call the Service Department at Ferrari Dealer and book your inspection.

POWER CUBE: the fourth and/or fifth year warranty

I think it could be solely up to a dealer if they want to process it.
is just sucks that the inspection cost quite a bit, not to mention they sell you the warranty at MSRP.

 

Hi a newbie here. The thread had some discussions about 16Ms, Where is the market now on a 16M- red, 1800 miles, leather, msrp 324k, apparently no stories, all books and records intact? The F430GT pricing guide doesn't apply. I seen asking as high as 310 to as low as 260 with similar miles. Could I stability in the pricing with the upcoming 458 spyder coming out?

guess my scud is almost junk now ;-)

it hit 7990 miles today - I really think these cars will sit at this price range for a while now - I just don't know how much lower than the 165-170 wholesale price where they are now.

 

Why is a black cars with gold strip and gold wheels considered hard for resale? Because it is a Ferrari, I understand red is the most popular but why black? Any particular reasons besides it's just how the market is?

 

I'm sure this is personal preference but I own a black scud with a silver stripe. The only scud color I DONT like is black and gold.

 

Are you sure about that? What about this Tiffany blue? IIRC, it's even got matching deviated stitching interior... (Couldn't resist.)

I don't think the concern in the "black". Its the "gold" IMHO.

Gold rims on black car equals 1980 for me.
