I don't follow college until March, but I love March! I have played in same league for 15 years from an old job, no one works for that company anymore, but we still have over 100 in our league.

I always do 3 brackets, I have had luck over the years not picking the top 2-3 favorites. Most people doing 1 bracket go with one of the favorites. Even if that team makes it you are still competing with 30-40 others based on your elite 8 or final 4 picks.

I found a great article last night on "popular ncca basketball tournament upsets", can't find it today. Syracuse has key player out now, I think North Carolina too. They will still go far, but maybe not far as their seed.

    my upsets...

    9 UCONN over 8 Iowa
    10 Xavier over 7 ND
11 NC State over 6 SD
    9 Alabama over 8 Creg
10 West Virg over 7 Gonzaga

they just closed our brackets and revealed picks. I used one of mine to pick the favorite Kentucky, but I figured Syracuse and North Carolina would be the next two favorites. I was right about North Carolina, but only 2 picked Syracuse - I guess everyone else heard about the ineligible player too. My other 2 picks were Ohio St. and Michigan St., they had fewer picks, but not enough to really separate me. Wisconsin, Indiana, or Wichita would have been a better pick as no-one picked them!

    *Kentucky - 41 picks
    North Carolina - 26 picks
    *Michigan St. - 10 picks
    Missouri - 8 picks
    *Ohio St - 7 picks
    Kansas - 7 picks
    Florida St. - 3 picks
    Duke - 3 picks
    Syracuse - 2 picks
    Baylor - 2 picks

    *my picks

I don't follow basketball (and haven't done a bracket in years), so I've been surprised at how many people have Mizzou in the final four...are they that good, or is that just a popular underdog pick?

Mizzou is pretty good this year, ranked somewhere between 4-8 in rankings. Jennie just wants KU to go farther than MO. :D

Syracuse was overrated - easy schedule. After they lost their big man for the tourney, their fate was sealed. If they can get through this game, still think they will lose next game.

Now I love a good upset, but wow, it really sucks hen its your team, lol. Rick Majerus IIRC has made a championship game appearance - LETS GO SLU! Hopefully next year will be the year a #16 takes down a #1. As long as Mizzou's not that #1.

upsets are fun to pick, but hard to come out ahead overall. I ended up 2-3, which means I would have been better just going straight. :(

1 NC & 13 Ohio in MW Semi - Gotta hand it to 'em, Bobcats really lived up to their name in the 2nd half. Could have been the Upset of the Tournament. Put it this way, at your friendly local Sportsbook, a win for the Tarheels was -800 yesterday, maybe down to -600 by tipoff.

Once game went into OT, they lost their mojo, while Tarheels finally loosened up. That Freshman point guard for NC had a hell of a big pair of shoes to fill . . . 1st start of the year . . . in Sweet 16 of all places.
