kobayashi huge tankslapper!
Just watched a comparison of Button and Alonso driving through a corner. Alonso was really struggling with twice the amount of turn on the wheel compared to Button, Alonso then just about held on to it coming out of the corner, nearly a tank slapper. Alonso has done really well getting the car where it is in practise. The Mclaren seems pretty much nicely balanced.
Agreed that Alonso is really in for a wrestling match. The thing looks like a unbalanced wheelbarrow out there. Mclaren and Merc look very very even keeled. Red Bull was running with a good amount of fuel on board during P2 so it's tough to say what they're up to.
I hope it's true for competition sake. I think Seb is great, but 2 years of dominance is enough for me thank you very much.
A season with Schu, Vettel, Ham, Alonso all in equal cars would be nothing short of a dream season. Something strange I noticed about Schu today. He has been attacking corners with a noticeable amount more confidence than with W01 or W02 where he seemed to have to 'nancy' around corners at times. I'm not the only one who has said this BTW. Could just exuberance for the new car....
redbull will sure find something for tomorrow qualifying, i would really really like to see ol schumi up there fighting as for ferrari they dont look neither here or there at the moment
While I know its practice, the track was wet, and we still do not know what the Redbulls are doing, I congratulate MS. Looks really good to see his name at the top of the sheets no matter the circumstances. With regard to Ferrari, well, damn. Mark
I just heard from a very reliable source that Red Bull are a full 13kph behind Mclaren and even more behind the Mercedes. I hear they are seriously dialing back the downforce and making some gearbox changes.
Hard to imagine Red Bull didn't know they had a problem until after P1 and P2... Q1/2/3 will show the teams hands. What's the weather forecast for Quali?
Clear weather for qualy. No team can 100% accurately predict how a new car is going to behave at a specific track. They may have it figured out in theory giving them a baseline to start with, but the proof is in the running. It's like the Ferrari, it was a great concept on paper and possibly in the wind tunnel, but none of it really worked on the track.
Thanks for the weather update. Obviously. But the Ferrari has shown problems throughout testing. They didn't arrive in Australia to realize they have a problem. This sounds like RBR is caught by surprise... wouldn't you expect something this major to have shown earlier? I'm still not sure I believe the RB rumors. Tweaking... sure. The 3rd or 4rth best car... I'll wait 'til after Quali to render an opinion. I'll be shocked if neither Vettel or Webber qualifies on the front 2 rows (P1-P4), and are both P5 or worse...
I definitely agree with that. Red Bull have some brilliant people there I'm sure they will figure out a compromise to their original setup.
