I always thought your car gained the later Vitalonis very early on in life... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, I knew this car since some years but didn't know his VIN. During Retromobile, I was able to finally get it, and yes Mikael theres a difference of 11 between yours and this one (remember when I posted your cars while being offered in auction in Paris in February 2006 ?)
That's right, I do remember. It would have being nice to see folks from these small circle of Countach enthuasts.
Mikael, Countachs are quite rare and its not surprising to meet other owners and find chassis numbers that are close to yours. Purely by coincidence I have owned 3 cars that were chassis numbers directly one-after-the-other! I just thought about that. 1121034, 1121036 & 1121038!! Mikael82: Both cars were originally Blu Acapulco (not black). I am not sure if David J. Anderson's car has gold wheels? Perhaps. David R.
My understanding is that David R's car came with no wheels, so he bought a set of Bravos, which he then subsequently sold (if memory serves) when he gave up on the project to a Canadian gentleman who put them on a non-S1 Countach with an LM engine block. Yes, I know, its sounds strange!
I don't think an LM block could fit in a Countach without MAJOR modification. I've got a spare (but badly damaged) LM block and it sits 6" off the ground and is much taller than the Countach body. I guess the sump could be replaced, but the overall shape is drastically different.
Agreed, it doesn't seem appropriate, but some people don't let anything stop them! In the words of the car's owner at the time: "This car was formerly owned by John Robertson. It was extensively modified over a period of 2 years by Bob Wallace and can be seen behind Bob in the photo in Peter Lyon's 'The Complete Book Of Lamborghini'. Modifications: The engine is a LM002 QV engine, stroker plates removed, custom crank, cams, intake manifold, higher compression pistons, custom rods, standard downdraft Webers." Obviously the engine cover has been modified for clearance. Image Unavailable, Please Login
More like crowbarred! Wow, I am impressed, and confused at the same time. I've got 2 spare Lr802's (950hp Lambo marine) for the next project. Those are twice the size of the LM motors! --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?kd2hgh Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is one exotic marine engine!!! Not the norm in the marine world where blown big block chevy's are the norm
They are not the same, unless the early models were. The 90 version is definitely taller. I had the unfortunate luck of having to source the last one at the factory to replace a blown one. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?xfbroj
